In the video sniglet of her making it, her voice is seemingly higher than the final product.

I have to say, though I love his work, I do not like LB's production of her stuff on SYW with a few exeptions like GB.

Her voice is soooo deep on "Destiny Rules." I still enjoy it, mainly for the lyrics and Lindsey's guitar.

I agree. A lot of the production is either plastic (Running Through the Garden) or ultimate cheese (Everybody Finds Out) or so saccharine that my teeth rot (Say You Will). Other times he hits the mark.

I just can't compare that section to the last half of Bella Donna or Wild Heart and I love Stevie. I think she is one of greatest lyricist our time. I just felt dissappointed in her comeback. With the exception of FFG and POTU. I don't think her voice sounded any better that it was on street angel. It was not the same voice we hear on the dance or BATB in vegas. I miss that about her.

It just doesn't work. It drags more than RuPaul.

I think she sings the verses in the 'SYW' version with far more conviction than the 'TISL' outtake (which you prefer).

The chorus vocals are kickier on the 'TISL' outtake, I'll grant you, but "lethargic" is definitely a better description for its verse vocals.

By the way, you're not a big Barry White fan, are ya?

I know but she did so well on the dance and BATB in vegas. Why doesn't she put that energy and intensity into her recent albums.

Are you kidding me with this?!?!?! Listen to the high notes she hits on "Sorcerer" and "It's only Love." Vocally, I think it may be her strongest album period...or at very least since The Wild Heart.

See, it's all a matter of opinion. I think TISL may be her masterpiece (up to this point anyway)

I do agree about BATB from vegas....wow.

i totally agree... the arrangement should have been different.. maybe swapping That Made Me Stronger with I Miss You would have helped the flow a little better

I really don't think you can compare Stevie's Street Angel voice to her TISL voice.... in alot of ways, her voice was better in 1994 - it was stronger, she sang out alot more, and there was great passion behind her words (you can hear it especially in the live shows from that tour)... But then again, some people may consider her TISL voice to be better because she had more range and regained some of her more feminine tone (the Street Angel voice was quite deep)... i guess it's all preference..
