I remember I was watching thinking that she would just do Gold Dust Woman or something, and then when it started and she was belting it out, I just stood there with my mouth open. I could kick myself too because I let someone borrow that tape and I never got it back!
And I think that was the positive influence of Sheryl getting her to do different things, like sing in her falsetto on Sorcerer.

Why can't some people handle difference of opinion? Honestly, why do people start entire threads just because they don't like some postings.

Stevie's a big girl, and she's an artist. That means she should expect criticism and know how to handle it.

If she's going to go on record saying that this show is going to be something different and state specifically that it gives her an opportunity to find some old songs she's never done before....and then once again plays it safe, then are you really surprised that some people have a reaction?

And, Sable, I actually am not sure I mind if Stevie stops touring. I have been seeing her since I was 7 years and now that I'm pushing 40, I am questioning why I would want to spend lots of money and deal with annoying concert crowds to see this amazingly talented woman continue to play nearly the same stuff over and over and over.

No one should ever think they are a bigger fan because they refuse to find anything negative about Stevie.

For a "retrospective, Vegas-style" show, yeah, then pull some more FM in, it's understandable. Look at all the gems others have suggested. Look at what she talked about, and then backed away from. With just a little tweeking, it could be phenomenal!!!

We want our girl to realize her potential and step out of her comfort zone just a little, teeny, tiny bit more...
Think of the irony. Vegas, a town built on gambling and this show couldn't play it any safer. Vegas isn't about being safe, it's about being over the top.

Stevie is a writer, so I am sure she is used to constructive criticizm. She seems like the kind of person who would respect people who told her the truth, and didn't just try to sugar coat everything just because she is a celebrity.
I'm going to the Thursday show, and I am thrilled to be able to get a mini vacation and attend a Stevie Nicks concert. Stevie did in fact hype up this experience to levels which it surely did not reach. It doesn't bother me that much because from day 1 she has always talked about things that never came to be, such as the Rhiannon Movie/Album, Solo World Tours, a boxed set that would "show Mick Fleetwood how a REAL boxed set should be done. I mean, I just take it all with a grain of salt and wait and see how it turns out.

I agree that Stevie's performance of FFG at Blockbuster was out of this world.

And the reason? Because she didn't play it safe. She was scheduled to sing Sorcerer that night and surprised us all with this song that most of us had never heard before. She reclaimed her rightful place as kickass rock-n-roll queen that night.

His performances are among the best I have ever seen.

AMEN! I know people who love every note she has ever uttered and think I am awful because I don't! I mean, the woman could fart twinkle twinkle little star and they would petition for it to go platinum. Actually, that would be quite an accomplishment wouldn't it?

As dissention would say - tough tacos, Jamie!

Stevie knows about the Penguin and The Ledge message board and if this place isn't good enough for her to know about, what the hell are you doing here trying to fit in? Trying to find a home now that Mick's site is a cemetery? FYI, all of the members of FM know and appreciate what this site is and what it does for the band.

The members of this site are proud of it and don't need you coming here and insulting this board and it's members. Stevie and Fleetwood Mac benefit greatly from this site and are not so thin skinned that they can't know about fan criticism.

Is anyone getting a bad deja vu like they've been down this road before with the people from Mick's site.

If you can't handle setlist criticism under these circumstances, I'd hate to see you when the opinions about songs and other things really get critical.

No. And i'm one of those leaving on Thursday for the Friday show... I'm looking forward to it.. I've heard all the concerts in the past on cd or saw them on tape or dvd.. I know the sets, yet I'm still excited to check it out.

And it IS something she's never done before... when was the last time she played the Coliseum??

But I must admit... I would have thought the video screens would have been used to the full potential. But I'm thinking maybe taking old footage and converting into imax film wasn't worth it... too expensive... not enough time. I don't know the process for doing something like that, but maybe there were problems that couldn't be avoided. I would imagine it's a little more involved then slapping in a vid tape.

I think it's rude to call some people rude bashers & bloody ingrates & bitchers just because they post their opinions about Stevie's act last night. When is THAT going to end?

Sorry I joined your "group". I just get defensive where Stevie is concerned. And I didn't "run back over" to Mick's site to "trash" you guys, but yeah I did make the "angry jealous a-hole" comment there, cause that's the way it seems righ now.

Yes the FFG performance WAS form the Blockbuster thing rather than the RRHOF. My mistake. When I first saw her do that performance, I thought she was great. But then I just took a look at it again recently,(after seeing Stevie a dozen times since then) myself and my friend both looked at each other like, OMG she is SO nervous. He voice was shaky and everything. Watch it again if you have it on tape. Maybe you'll still disagree, but she just seemed nervous as hell to me. But I could be wrong. Everyone has their own opinion.

As far as insulting anyone here, I really didn't mean to. I was just reacting to the posts I was reading.

Sorry.

~Jamie ... I really am a nice person...

Well, that's really unreal. You've just "bashed" what I & many others consider one of Stevie's best performances in the last ten years.

Do you get my point?

Sure I'd love to see her do different stuff, but only if she wants to do it.
Well, I'd like to see her do different stuff even if she doesn't want to do it. So that must mean I'm an immoral ingrate.

"Bashing" seems to be the word that's used more than any other to indicate moral righteousness.

SO well, put. Thank you.

Yes, I was disappointed to hear about the setlist. Was I angry? No. Jealous? (I still don't really get that accusation) No. Spoiled? Far from it. The reason I wasn't in Vegas was because I DON'T get everything I wish for on a silver platter. And $1000 for a trip to see my favourite artist wasn't in the cards for me. (No pun intended)

The reason for my disappointment, as has been expressed here by many, is that this Vegas showcase was built up (by Stevie herself) as something she had never done before - that there were giong to be lots of surprises, and that old songs would be pulled from the vaults. We are allowed to be disappointed that that did not happen.

Feelings are feelings, Jamie. You may not agree with how we are feeling, but you cannot tell us our feelings are wrong. They just are.

Am I going to stop being a fan of Stevie? Are you out of your mind??? I have loved her for as long as I've known her voice and her music. That will never end. And I will go to see her this summer, and I will love every minute of it. Dreams and Outside the Rain included. But would I love to hear... I don't know... Kind of Woman or Storms or Mistaken Love or Planets of the Universe or a half dozen other gems? You bet.
