Here's Stevie talking a bit about the performance.

Any particular reason why?

It's on YouTube now. As much as we all want Stevie to sing new stuff I couldn't imagine the two of them doing better than this together. It was incredible. And I hate these kinds of shows and I don't watch them, but I have to say I really loved this clip.

well, I am not a fan of javier -- he is a little too smug for my liking -- and I personally thought stevie sounded a little off Also, I rather wish they would have selected another song rather than Landslide; particularly due to the wide exposure of the show. Apart from that, Adam Levine is sooooosexy! I would have thought Javier would have thanked him with his winning words?

I thought Stevie sounded fine, in tune and all but a bit "tired" sounding for lack of a better word. Oh and I agree on Adam Levine, yum!!!

I don't know, I'm kind of actually glad it was Landslide. I'm afraid if they did something else that people weren't as familiar with it wouldn't have gone over so well with the public (just, probably wouldn't have been as standout a moment as it ended up being) and would be easily forgotten.

I agree with you. 'Landslide' is a song that everybody knows, yet many have not heard it performed as a duet. So I think in the end it was a good choice.

Glad I'm not the only one who was not all that wowed by the performance. (I felt like a curmudgeon reading through most of these glowing reviews.) Yes, it was nice to see Stevie treated so nicely by the folks on the show; yes, it was nice that she did not over-sing like Christina & most of the women finalists; yes, I know she is probably tired after the trip. But her voice was just so-so for me, & I'm sorry, but her growing habit of gesturing/pantomiming through her lyrics bugs the crap out of me every time.
That being said, I am impressed by how many fans she has gotten on Facebook, especially considering her page is not all that old.

She's subconsciously living out her acting fantasies although she'll never admit to it since she claims to have never wanted to act or be any good at it.

Hee hee! I find it quite endearing, especially in this particular instance when she was basically motioning him to stop or cut right before the final notes.

Also, in her defense, she can't move around on her legs like she once did and dance across the stages of the world so she's over-compensating with the upper part of her body (that didn't quite sound like a defense?).

I agree.
I know I'm in the minority of Stevie fans. I hate the whole hands-stretched-out thing at the end of GDW since The Dance. And I hate the whole dry-the-buttocks-with-the-shawl-like-you-just-had-a-dip thing she does at the end of "How Still My Love". Most fans love all that stuff.

Not when it's so contrived though...
