New Blondie Album "Panic of Girls" - Page 3

I saw them here in Boston a few years back and they were GREAT! I pulled a "Suzy at a Stevie concert" move and ran to the front toward the end of the show. I was over 20 rows back!

Debbie is amazing, her voice is still really solid and the band was so good. Of course, I never believed it was their last tour ever. How many bands have we heard that from who continue to tour year after year?

I really like the "Mother" Video. Good stuff. Haven't heard the rest of the new album yet though. I think Blondie is planning to announce a fall/winter US tour soon. Great Band.

Yeah they have a date for September in Canada so probably they'll be making their way to the US around the same time.

Also it seems the album has a US release date for Sept. 13th (but subject to change as it hasn't been completely confirmed yet.)

Okay, who has seen Blondie on their current tour? I am tempted to see them at the Highland Ballroom (general admission) on September 13 in NYC; there's a special for GiltCity members- $83 for a ticket, early admission and a signed copy of their new CD. The early admission works for me since I can't wait in line all day.

I've seen them this tour and like Kristen said, GO!! They've been doing a perfect balance of the hits and the new material. They're on top form.

8. Sunday Smile- is probably my favorite slow song on this disc.
9.Wipe Off The Sweat- is my daughter's favorite song it's entirely in Spanish and Debbie calling for her Poppi makes you want to salsa.
10. Le blue- is entirely in French and the music sets a great mood. You can forget this is Blondie and picture an old french film and this being the soundtrack.
11. China Shoes- great song. This bluesly rock song closes out the record and I wish there was one more sons on the record like this one.

I'm not best reviewer but if you find the download of the album download it and buy it when it becomes available.

I read there are 2 bonus tracks on one of the releases. I hope they are new songs.

I'd rate this record better than The Curse of Blondie and better than No Exit, due to the fact that it feel cohesive. Blondie is staying in their comfort zone of experimenting and doing what they do well.

The two bonus songs on the UK magazine release version are Horizontal Twist and Mirame which are both new songs, both are great and are in my favourite bunch that have been added to my Blondie iTunes playlist.

I also heard that the german version contains two other bonus tracks that I have yet to see anywhere else so far.

Defiantly go, I saw them on the UK leg and it was great, a fine balance between new and old (I was especially surprised as the crowed were defiantly there for the classics, but the band played a healthy portion of the new album that went over really well)

I remember tweeting that Ms Nicks should take note that new songs can be played and crowd will not go running for the hills and never come again, but in retrospect Stevie has been quite daring with this year's set list (apart from dropping In Your Dreams after the first night)

The bonus tracks on the german release were "Sleeping Giant" and "End of the World". The latter is where the line "the excitement or the panic of girls" comes from and the former is a real timeless blast back into ETTB.

Yeah, End Of The World & Sleeping Giant - they're two of my favorites off the whole thing.

Unfortunately they aren't available on any other release but it's definitely worth it.

Just saw them at the Borgata in Atlantic Cityon Friday night! (the usual dull casino crowd for the most part) We got front row center section but were told to sit down :-(

The setlist was pretty amazing - Union City Blue, Dreaming, and Atomic opened the show, but since a majority of the room only sort of knew Dreaming they were given a lack luster welcome which was a huge disappointment... (UCB is prob my fav Blondie song, so I was thrilled!)

New songs are GREAT on stage and DH was, of course, playing with the fans in the crowd. So we still had a great time, each of us got a stick from Clem and a setlist too!

Anyone else catch them lately?

I'm going to see them tonight in Raleigh, NC. I've never seen them live, but I've been waiting for this moment ever since I was 12 years old and discovered their wonderful music and the gorgeous Debbie Harry.

The new album is superb! It's the perfect blend of styles that made Blondie the trailblazers they were back in the day.
