I like the over the top goofiness of Italian Summer but I think repeating the Italian weather forecast like 6 times in a row is not great - the song needs at least one more verse instead of eternal repetions of a chorus.

I thought about making a "literal interpretation" video of Italian Summer and having be nothing but a screen cap of the 5 day forecast for Rome.

Do we know what it was that happened with Rupert over in England that "changed her forever" and "made it impossible for us to ever be together again" ?? Was he married and his wife found out?

I always thought Love Is was about him.

For the first verse you could just flip through pages of "Better Homes & Gardens".

this could be totally unrelated but knowing Stevie it's probably not. In the video clip of WSS she's got a streak of red in her hair, just like she does on the cover of OSOTM. Hmmmm

LOL - the melody and so on are epic, the lyrics, well, she gave up after the guy picked up the guitar and handed a rose, then she went on auto-replay for 4 minutes.

I'm thinking that if she's going to insist on adapting her journal entries into songs, there needs to be a rule that she be locked in her room for a set period of time to write an entry with NO interruptions. Guessing she was on a roll describing Italy when Karen pounded on the door & said, Hey, Stevie, it's time for Sulamith's wardrobe fitting, chop-chop! Stevie dropped her pen & dashed out.

Yeah, he put down that guitar, handed her a rose, and she read him the weather forecast, then pushed the auto-replay button while they got down to business.

http://cgi.ebay.com/STEVIE-NICKS-ITS...item25651adb49

And here it is. No picture insert, which is disappointing - but it has a radio edit.

All of Warner/Reprise's radio promo discs have the same design template in regard to text design on the disc itself and B&W backtray art. Secret Love's cover insert was unexpected extravagance and they probably used it as an excuse to lay off another three or four dozen employees. Why bother to include a picture of one rock's most distinctive icons and risk attracting attention from all the other discs in the weekly pile. Even Madonna's last bunch of Warner radio promos went uncovered...(topless?).

On a good note, there are two 12" vinyl Rooms on Fire imports for sale that come with the amazing two-sided fold out poster (there's a picture of it in the CD Singles thread.)

An unfortunate trend; I was really hoping for an approach more in line with the TISL promo singles.

Exclamation Lol

I did, in fact, read the bottom of the page where the seller explains why he doesn't ship to Italy (and Greece), but OMG, that is hysterical written in bold "I DO NOT SHIP TO ITALY!"

Screw you, Italy! You ain't gettin' no Stevie Nicks promo CDs!

Sorry, that just struck me as hilarious. Carry on. Heh.
