Default Nicksmas - June 26h - 27th

I am trying to compose myself here. Right now, it is almost midnight and I have been on a train with broken air con for 3 hours in this insane heatwave we're having and then had to walk 3 miles up hill to get home as there were no buses so late. I'm also and emotional wreck, so please bare with me.

This weekend has been named Nicksmas. It was just THAT incredible.

A bit of background about myself - long time die hard Stevie fan. I don't remember a time when Stevie and The Mac's music was not a part of my life. And over the years, the songs have woven their way into my life and into my story. My parents always tell me that I used to carry around one of those Fisher Price "My First Cassette Player" thingys and listen to Stevie tapes on it from being about 2 or 3. But enough about that for now.

This weekend one of my biggest dreams came true - I saw Stevie Nicks perform a solo set. Not only that, I MET Stevie Nicks. INSANE. To add to all of that, I have met some of the most amazing people in the world, with amazing stories to tell. This weekend began on the morning of the Hyde Park show. Myself and my friends Holly and Jennie arrived early - about 8:30am. The only other Stevie fans were Kathryn (Sahara) and Michelle. We soon began chatting as the offer of a flapjack was made - I love that food gets people's attention. And from there on, I met so many others. This weekend has been a completely life changing experience for me. I am sad to be home and leaving you wonderful people behind, but also I am beaming with happiness as I now have some amazing new friends and lots more good times to look forward to.

To Stevie - you have done it again! You're music never fails to bring people together. For that, we owe you everything. And in return, we will keep our ears open and support you 100% in everything you do.

To Kathryn, Rob, Lisa, Charlie, Sarah & everyone who's names have escaped me right now (it's been a VERY long day) - it was A.MA.ZING to meet you this weekend and I'm very much looking forward to the good times ahead.

To all the ledge lurkers I met - you are all wonderful. Come in out of the darkness. As fun as running in the shadows is, we'd like to see you're pretty faces around here more often. Come on Brits, get posting!!

I have decided, NICKSMAS will become the annual UK Stevie meet up. Same time next year guys?

I have plenty of snaps to post of the day overall and I'm sure others will post their's here too. But for now, that's all for now folks - over and out!

(incredibly random post, yes - you're right!)

How exciting for all you guys!! I am so thrilled to see Stevie branch out promotion for "In Your Dreams" in the UK this time around. It's about time! It was always so perplexing how Stevie largely ignored doing more major promotion in Europe (other than OSOTM). She missed a huge opportunity to become more internationally famous in her solo career. Oh Well, at least she seems to kinda be making up for lost time.

I love reading all the personal experiences associated with Stevie and your stories, yes she does touch people's hearts and souls and brings people together. I come here everyday to read all the updates in Stevie world, so I guess I am a lurker too!

How great!

I feel the same way about Stevie's (and Fleetwood Mac's) music. It has always been a part. And...it seems that whenever I feel the most vulnerable and defeated in life, there is a new Stevie or Fleetwood Mac release coming up and things really start to turn around in incredible ways in my life. Pretty odd and coincidental - huh?

Stevie came on and said a few words about the music industry today and why she feels music stores and promotion events like this are important (this shot is mine)
