Sorry if I offended anyone. I think it's great that people like Sara F. and Bob Welch come by this place. I was just intrigued by the manner in which JannieC contradicted my suggestion. Might just have imagined something that wasn't there, though, so I'll shut up now.

I love the Street Angel master reels. I can see why they thought they were so special. There's a real buoyancy and happiness there that somehow didn't make it to the final procuction.
A little off-topic, but important trivia (to me, anyway), so I hope someone remembers....

The versions we have of those mixes dated 2/23/1993.... I thought those were not sourced from actual physical Reel-to-Reel Master tapes, but instead were from a DAT tape that the Reel group bought off eBay (back during the "Good Ol' Reel days").

Does anyone remember the details? Thanks!

Oh dear, I have NO in with Stevie! I was just trying to say that perusing these boards would not mean a banishment from Stevie's circle of friends.

Sure thing. Sorry again for getting the wrong end of the stick.

I kind of get where Stevie was coming from with the "it wasn't a big deal because the relationship was rocky," because it's always kind of a relief to break up an uncertain relationship. However, I do remember her saying for a while Mick was one of her great loves.

Synonyms for great
1. immense, enormous, gigantic, huge, vast, grand. Great, big, large refer to size, extent, and degree. In reference to the size and extent of concrete objects, big is the most general and most colloquial word, large is somewhat more formal, and great is highly formal and even poetic, suggesting also that the object is notable or imposing: a big tree; a large tree; a great oak; a big field; a large field; great plains.

Well . . . he's big alright.

Hehe. Maybe this is what I was thinking of:

"I wasn't displeased with anything Mick said about me," says Nicks. "I knew the truth would come out someday. It was a great love affair - something I would never trade in a million years."

Right! And, she's got like a million "best friends" and the bellboy sneezing in her hotel room "broke her heart".... Seriously, I love this about her though.

I know Sara in person and I really think that these discussions should stay in private messaging out of respect for her.

Precisely. This very well could be a sensitive subject and since Sara is a board member (and, you know, a human being), we shouldn't be talking about her personal life without her participation.

What discussion? About Stevie and Mick's relationship? This is a forum about Stevie Nicks after all. Maybe we shouldn't talk about Lindsey because people who know him or his wife might come on here. Maybe people who know Joe Walsh come on here...

Listen, I know nothing about Sara and have no ill feelings about her WHATSOEVER. But come on, this is a fan blog for people to talk about Stevie and her work and her life. This is all fair game. If someone were slamming Sara, different story.

No, about Sara and Stevie's relationship and anything else that may be directly about Sara. Stevie and Mick's relationship? Go for it. I feel like some of the questions that were starting to emerge on this thread were inappropriate mostly because Sara is a member of this board.

That being said, I'm just advocating for Sara's respect and privacy. It's common courtesy to not discuss someone's private life in a public place. It shouldn't be any different for her. She is not a member of Fleetwood Mac and she's not a huge part of the band anymore, so she should be treated just like the rest of us (when it comes to personal questions).

I get your point, and again, if someone came on here slamming Sara, that's out of bounds.

But Stevie made Sara a very visible, public part of her life, her photos were on album sleeves, she's sung backup vocals on past albums, and Stevie has talked about their friendship many times in the press. The only thing I've seen on here is the observation that Stevie did not have any mention of Sara on this latest album, and that seemed weird. And then it moved on.

I think this topic has been beaten to death. I don't disagree with your defense of Sara's privacy, but I would respectfully disagree that Sara has been disrespected here. Now let's all play nice!

I'm not saying she has been disrespected in this thread but she has elsewhere on the Ledge. I smelled smoke and kindly reminded people to keep in mind that she's a person, not just an extension of the Fleetwood Mac world.

Thank you, Dani!

Sara used to be my roommate. I just called her and read that quote to her that Stevie said about her being "banished" and she laughed. Sara loves to share stories, I"m sure she'd be more than happy to come on and tell you guys anything you wanted to know within reason about the Tusk era. From what I know, it wasn't really "banished", haha, but we gotta love Stevie for always being dramatic. But like Dani said, NOT that anything has really been said offensively about Sara in this thread, everyone should take into consideration that these are actually people with for real lives, not exactly the storybook that we have in our heads of them.
