From the STREET ANGEL Work Tapes:

[mikebise]

Sorry this is taking so long. My mother is having a few complications from her surgery, so I have been in Austin with her. However, I haven't finished uploading the songs, yet. There are 6 more outtakes from STREET ANGEL, plus the 20 Live Rehearsal songs (sung on lead by Sharon, as confirmed by Sara).

Thanks for your patience, and THANKS to all of those who helped us! I will get the rest uploaded soon.

WOW to Mirror Mirror. How does that not make the album but Listen to the Rain, Unconditional Love and Just Like a Woman do?

Thanks Mike.

Holy shizzola! Is it just me or is the SA version of "Mirror, Mirror" like a note-for-note replica of "Edge of Seventeen?" It is epic!!!!!!! I had no idea the girl had the stones to do something like this in 1993.

That's exactly what I was thinking, it's just like the SA era version of Edge, it's really quite incredible. Thank you so much for sharing this one, Mikebise!

[nickster]

Mike - this is great; thank you so much!

[Christopher]

What an amazing discovery! Mirror, Mirror (Street Angel Version) is blowing my mind!
The musicians playing on this also remind me of the touring band Stevie was using for the OSOTM tour - kinda funky, and less of the crunchy WW guitar chops. It's a damn shame this song never came to full fruition on any of Stevie's solo records. Thanks MIKE!!!

July 1992~ Do y'all think this is Glyn Johns even producing it? The tape had no producer credits. It just doesn't sound like the rest of the Street Angel songs (any mix).

I was telling a friend it reminded me of Tina Turner's 1996 cover of Massive Attack's "Unfinished Sympathy".

It's amazing the comparison between that and this version of MLWCYM....very tired and sluggish. The rock and the drive was definitely there in that era, she just didn't push herself to her best.

[Johnny Stew]

This version is spellbinding! I'm loving it. Thank you so much, Mike!!

Could it be Chris Lord-Alge producing? He was at the helm of "Thousand Days," which was also recorded in 1992.

My first thought on hearing Maybe Love was uh oh it's the klonopin voice.
I'm intrigued with the arrangement of this Mirror Mirror. It still sounds very late 80's to me. Also I appreciate the effort but at some points she's over singing it. I have to wonder if someone was pushing her to do that? In the moments where she doesn't seem to be so self aware there are flashes of the original Stevie solo brilliance. I'm going to have to listen to this many more times, of course.

I would suffer for the love?

Fantastic stuff, pal! This is going straight to my HTC Thunderbolt (4G LTE) for jogging & working out!

[KenshiMaster16]

As soon as I heard this version of Mirror Mirror for some reason it just popped in my head that this song, had it have made the album, would have been an f'in brilliant opening track. Would've been epic like TISL or Moonlight (had it actually opened IYD)

[KarmaContestant]

Whoa, loving this Mirror Mirror - thanks so much, Mike!
