OK thank you so much! Well we are flying up and then getting all the stuff for my dorm in NY. But were probably gonna get a rental car and since the concert hall is pretty far from where the college is. I'm super excited though and this makes the thought of going to college a whole lot easier!!! That's a really good idea you have about going to both shows!!! Hopefully we see each other at one of them !! Thank you again for all of your help!!

Btw, what is the Tusk fight??? Did Lindsey and Stevie fight each other onstage????? Like physically??? I'm really curious about this....

[QUOTE=Tango;996049]I think the reality of what Lindsey has is better than anything you could wish for him. Check out his family:

William's here Love him and watch him grow

Leelee's here Love her and watch her grow

Stella's here Love them and watch them grow

Watch Lindsey's video about them:

Hi Lee,

This isn't a knock on you. I'm only asking because you touched on this again and nobody will explain how the timing of a fake romance since 1997 makes logical sense. If it was so easy to believe their relationship wasn't all a stage act during the Dance era, and others are quite sure and very sure they were still banging long after they broke up, why are you so sure that ship has sailed and it is all a stage act now? The point I'm not making very well is, why do you think Lindsey and Stevie feel the need to play up a fake relationship at this point in time? What is different now besides Lindsey being married with children? That fact should make them less willing to fake a romance, not more. It's the timing I don't get. Didn't they want to sell records and concert tickets before 1997?

Hi there! You bring up similar points so I've got the same questions. Why weren't people eating it up and expecting to to see fake romance before 1997? Why weren't Stevie and Lindsey playing parts the audience wanted them to play before Lindsey got married? Why the shift in their stage drama after 97? Or is their behavior much the same and fans just interpret that behavior differently because of the change in Lindsey's marital status? My belief is that with this change in circumstances we should see a change in behavior...but a change in the opposite direction. A married man with children and a happy family doesn't seem the best candidate for selling a fake romance with an old flame unless he is John Barrymore. Wait...didn't Bob Welch say Stevie and Lindsey are the Ethel and John Barrymore of rock?

How would the audience react if they just sang their songs? The same as for every other band that fake romance isn't a part of the act. Meaning every other band in the world besides FM. Why do you think no other bands with male and female members caught onto this fake romance marketing idea?

No. And, I agree with Mr. Stevie - there was no reason for SnL to play up a love affair or lost love affair in 1997 forward. In fact, it seems like they would want to downplay it. Partners in crime, indeed. Know what they're doing, for sure. No emotion or love or even a kind of passion - no way.
Hi CA The absent minded affection Lindsey gives Stevie so often seems pretty real to me. I see why people are convinced they had something going during the Dance. Those recently released video clips of Dance promo interviews where he twice kisses the top of Stevie's head...like an instinctive reaction he's compelled to do...I'm sure he wasn't consciously aware he was doing it. He seemed unaware they were being filmed. Otherwise, he wouldn't have been doing it and he wouldn't have been absent mindedly picking his nose on camera either.

Back to the timing issue. Good to know you agree. I was begining to wonder if I was the only one who didn't see a logical reason for the fake stage antics now. Seems everyone else thinks Lindsey and Stevie are so insecure about the validity of their music they feel the need to bolster it with fake romantic stage antics, cuz the crowds would disappear if they didn't fake it. That's the only logical reason I can see for them to use fake drama to sell records & tickets now, when they didn't do it before the band reunion in 1997. Maybe they believe they lost their mojo when Christine left? So Stevie and Lindey had to resort to enhanced drama to make up for their lame musical chops in Christine's absence?

I was trying to say, unlike a lot of women who often place the love of their children above the love of their spouse or partner, I believe Lindsey loves his woman more than anyone... other than himself. Maybe I'm wrong. I notice women are more likely to place children ahead of their man, while a man tends to be selfish to the point of loving his woman more than his kids because she is going to tend to his needs more than his kids are. Men can get jealous of the kids taking too much of their woman's attention away from them. I admit I feel that way sometimes.

I'm curious why you specifically left out their mother when you said you thought he loved Stevie above everyone except his children?

Why does everyone believe Lindsey's so happily married but he loves Stevie more than the mother of his kids? This makes no sense to me on the same level as the fake romance since the Dance theory. Don't get it.

Ha, but that's an old lyric. Many of Stevie's SYW songs had to do with The Dance. So, I wouldn't say that line supports a current relationship.

Ha, but that IS my point. I said I believe almost all their lyrics are old. I'm not just poiting to the ones which blatantly contradicting their current relationship status like this one,

Everywhere we go now
At home or on stage

For all we know that one lyric could be the only one that's current. If you take into consideration that most of their lyrics are old, Lindsey's too, not just Stevie's, we have no idea what the status of their relationship is by listening to their songs.

What I hear in their music is the same trend. Certain lyrics point to them having a drama filled relationship where miscommunication and separation as the centerpiece, while other lyrics point to a solid, stable and loving relationship between two people who have been through so much together, come out the other side together, and still mean everything to each other. I hear it from both of them. Not just from Mr. happily married man, and not only Ms. single and I never wanted a husband or children, queen of rock.

Why do you think I left her out? I don't necessarily think he loves her more than Stevie. I think he's never gotten over wondering what might have happened if she hadn't gotten pregnant. I think he prizes the family life they've made together over whatever he could have had with Stevie. Comparing them one on one, I don't know if he loves Kristen more than Stevie. But they aren't one on one. They are one on five, because Kristen brings the whole family she and Lindsey have created into the equation with her.

It's like Fleetwood Mac. I do not love Christine more than I love Lindsey. But I love Fleetwood Mac (the 5 of them) more than I love Lindsey, more than I love Stevie, more than I love Christine and more than I love BN. I do not admire Lindsey, Christine and Stevie equally. But Fleetwood Mac outweighs my love for any of the individual players and the 3 songwriters mean more to me than any 2 do. I loved the SYW and the Unleashed tours. I must have seen more than 50 shows. But I'd give those up to have Christine back.

Similarly, I can imagine that Lindsey loves his 3 kids more than he loves Stevie and he loves his family (Kristen and the 3 kids) more than he loves Stevie. Does he love Kristen by herself more than he loves Stevie? I doubt it. Not judging from his lyrics.

Michele

How did the song Everybody Finds Out come about? The Dance era?.. This song is clearly about an affair of sorts?

And the crying on Silver Springs and the angry Lindsey kiss..

They were getting it on!

u know what absolutely kills me? what makes ppl think that because he has a "wife" that that label means it all? "no one falls into a simple set of labels". i'm not trying to throw hate/shade on the marriage because all that know me knows full well that i believe in marriage to the upmost. however, i do know a man that has a wife and she is not his WOMAN! she is JUST his wife. the "wife is the "official side piece", if you will. some would look at the other woman that way, but my answer to that is, HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS. he married her cause she had his kid. he thought it was the right thing to do. the wife knows her position. it's a sad situation in my eyes.

all i'm saying is, for some ppl LABELS don't mean anything. it's the actions behind it. who here doesn't know a couple that's been together for YEARS and have never gotten married? the license doesn't make him less of her man, or her less of his woman.

*holds head* i can't believe i just said this! this goes against everything that i believe in......

You have a point there about labels! What you mentioned brings back the entire way life was in the 70's when it came to relationships.........seemed like everyone (no, not really everyone) was out exploring, it was the, "Thing" to have open marriages, relationships, threesomes, orgies, and whatever else tripped one! It was the time carried over from the 60's (which is when all of FM was in their prime both). And Stevie & Lindsey were right there in the heart of where Hippiedom was, the summer of love.........soooooo.....getting back to your point Mimi.......there were influences in their lives then that shaped them and although it sounds strange for Stevie to have done Mick, Lindsey, Don, & Joe, oh, forgot JD too, well......it was the, "thing" to do back then and as normal as ever. So although it sounds strange and sad for Lindsey's wife...well.....to them it's all normal.

But it was 1997, I don't think he felt any need to marry someone or stay with them just because they were pregnant in that day and age. Seeing as how he and Stevie were "shackin' up" like free spirits way back in the seventies, before society totally accepted it, I really don't see him as that old fashioned that he'd feel compelled to "do the right thing." Well, of course he would, but in his mind I think the "right thing" would be supporting the child. Making sure Kristen was financially comfortable, but not necessarily marrying her.

And anyway, he didn't marry her then. He waited a couple of years until their family was cemented. The first baby may have been a mistake (on his part, anyway) but the next one was a plan.

I don't think Lindsey's SYW songs talk about Stevie, but his UTS songs certainly seem to and his songs and her TISL and SYW songs all seem to say the same thing. So, I do think they were romantically involved in 1997, but I also think that the romance and drama of being star-crossed was actually stronger than any real-life or practical need to be together was or else they would have been. An unwanted pregnancy wouldn't have been enough to stop them, if they really wanted it.

I think what was true in the eighties is probably true now. Lindsey gets out more than he ever did, but Stevie says he didn't play enough and he thought she played too much. He is still not that social and he probably savors a quiet and unvarying domestic routine. His outlet is his music and that's as "social" as he gets.

He's still the guy who could be locked up in a studio with Richard or Ray and, as much as she reminds him of her, she's not really the girl who sewed stars on his jean pockets. Stevie doesn't seem sedentary at all. She gets restless. Wants to be doing something. I don't think they'd be very compatible living together anymore and they must know this at heart.

They might be lovers, but I don't think Lindsey's married out of obligation. I think he wants to be where he is. That's why I don't consider Stevie his woman.

I do recall a Dance moment that made me think of the possessiveness that term "his woman" connotes though. So, there's this 1975 photo where Lindsey has both Lindsey and Christine around the neck, holding them in the crook of his elbows. I do remember Lindsey doing that to Stevie at the end of The Dance. I don't know if it's on the dvd or if it was another Dance show, but they all take their group bow and then he just grabs Stevie and and walks off the stage with her and I do remember being taken by the familiar and proprietary nature of the act.

people still do practice this and many to please others.

ha! so glad you said this.

this i disagree with. that's a lot of baggage!!! maybe she couldn't handle it. maybe he wouldn't be able to handle juggling his "woman" and his "baby's mama". I PERSONALLY don't like to be in relationships with guys w/ kids because I WANT TO BE THE PRIORITY! (selfish? maybe...lemme finish lol!) i don't have kids right now because i want to focus on me! i don't want to take on, or take part, in anyone else's responsibilities. maybe Stevie felt the same way

all n all, i understand where you're coming from but it doesn't make me think any different about my "labels" theory.

I agree with you on everything, Michelle, except Will being a mistake. I give Lindsey enough credit for knowing how to remain childless until his late 40s that he would not be making that kind of mistake at that point in time.

I agree his UTS songs have Stevie all over them. Then he dedicated the cd to his wife and kids.

I agree, which is why I believe it didn't stop them.

That's why the only thing they did together was to make love.

They might be lovers, but I don't think Lindsey's married out of obligation. I think he wants to be where he is. That's why I don't consider Stevie his woman.
I agree they might be lovers and he didn't marry out of obligation, which is why I do consider Stevie his woman. Crazy how we believe them same things and come to opposite conclusions.

His familiarity with her body, along with the proprietary nature of his touch and the look in his eyes & sound of his voice when interacting with her all add up to Stevie=his woman.

(selfish? maybe...lemme finish lol!) i don't have kids right now because i want to focus on me! i don't want to take on, or take part, in anyone else's responsibilities. maybe Stevie felt the same way
Yes, I see your point. In the old days, a woman with children found it hard to get a date. These days, men with children are encountering the same problem. And if it's a man who is financially strapped because he's paying tuition or child support, that makes it a double turn off.

So, if it was anyone but Stevie I might agree with you, but I think she would love to play stepmom to his kids. In fact, I think she'd be more jealous about Kristen being first in the kids' affections than she would about any woman vying for Lindsey.

I think Stevie has always played second fiddle (or second guitar) to Lindsey's music anyway. That's probably why she was so restless in the seventies, because he was hanging out with his musician friends and falling asleep with his guitar and taking her for granted. I think she'd have less objection coming in second to his kids than to his tinkering with I'm So Afraid.

When she divorced Kim, I think if she could have just raised Robin's baby without having to deal with Robin's hubby, she would have jumped at the chance.

Well, I might be giving Ken a little too much credit. He said that Lindsey wasn't really ready, felt a little resentful, but then when the baby was there and Lindsey interacted with it -- felt the little fingers curl around his hand -- then Lindsey was hooked.
