Default Lindsey Buckingham Goes DIY for new solo album

Lindsey Buckingham
Goes DIY for new solo album
June 20, 2011

In this video filmed by Bullett Magazine, Fleetwood Mac singer and guitarist Lindsey Buckingham opens up about how he decided to self-release his forthcoming solo album Seeds We Sow, his ambivalence about the massive success of Fleetwood Mac's Rumours and how the band's experimental followup Tusk changed the course of his career. "It was a line in the sand for me," Buckingham says. "I've got the Fleetwood Mac scene for the big machine and the ensemble, and that's like making a movie. This [solo album] is like painting, where you're alone and it's a one-on-one with the canvas, and it's a whole other creative world."

Wait...is he using this as promo for his UPCOMING album or did somebody dredge this up from his hype for Out Of The Cradle??? The guy just can't come up with anything new to say about his solo music? Damn, I was tired of that hype in '93, much less the same crap 18 years later.

Yeah but he's already converted us. I believe he's talking to people that might not necessarily know his work.

But chili you know Lindsey by now. Why is it getting to you now, after the man has released two consecutive solo albums, toured behind them and even used some of "more of the same" for the FM PR? It's nothing new that he repeats himself, and to me it becomes less annoying and more like a loving family members who has those quirks you're used go seeing/hearing time and time again.

I'm not going to criticize Lindsey's repetitive speeches anymore...he always delivers (and then some) with the quality of his material. I am stoked for this album, my fellow LB-ers...I know I haven't showcased it as passionately as in the past, but I'm probably more excited for this album than I was for Under The Skin- well, at least JUST AS.

Now to go get my tix...

I suppose I still have some of the "chiffon tea" left in my system....and I just can't say nice things about BOTH Lindsey & Stevie in the same month...if I say glowing things about one, I HAVE to nit-pick & bitch about the other. This month, it's Lindsey I get to bitch about.
