I'm seeing Paul at Wrigley Field (shudders) at the end of July. I've always wanted to see a Beatle, and as we know choices are limited! I'm hoping he doesn't do too much of his solo stuff. Ha, I'm the kind of casual fan that us Fleetwood Mac fanatics hate!

You'll have a wonderful time. I don't care for Paul's solo stuff for the most part and, frankly, there were too many artists I love that I had to make a choice.

I would love to see Paul one day, maybe. It's tough. I have mixed feelings about him sometimes, but I loved him as a Beatle and he is one of my top songwriters based solely on his Beatles achievements. It's just...I get SO freaking sad that I can never see John. THAT one I would have paid anything to see...anything.

Enjoy Erin!! And I hope you will be seeing Lindsey too.

I'm very curious to what he'll play, but I'm assuming geezer pleasers, which is fine by me. I'm guessing I'll be on the younger end of those in attendance. The friend I'm going with is 15 years older than me.

My bank account is crying, because I didn't make a choice. Between these tickets, Stevie tickets, and Lindsey tickets (bought for Milwaukee, still waiting for Chicago to reappear) I may have put a serious dent in my vacation plans. Oh well!

Oh, and BTW, my mother's favorite Beatle is Ringo. Just thought I'd put that out there because I find it so incredibly bizarre.

Ugh, I'm starting to LOVE Ringo. He's moving up in my eyes because he's so sweet and likable.

I haven't even bought my LB tix yet, I suck. I'm going to wait a bit and see if they release some closer seats and get them for Pittsburgh and maybe two other cities.

I want to see Elton John and Jackson Browne...and I HOPE Paul Simon.

Citigroup lines up EMI sale : whose back catalogue includes the Beatles
Len Blavatnik, who is in the process of taking over Warner Music, considered frontrunner to buy struggling company

Citigroup has fired the starting gun on the sale of EMI, home to artists including Katy Perry and Kylie Minogue, after the world's fourth largest music company announcing that it is exploring a range of "strategic alternatives". Formally, EMI said it would look at a range of options including a stock market flotation or recapitalisation of the indebted company – but with Citigroup having been landed with the business after Guy Hands's buyout went wrong, few expect the result to be anything other than a sale.

Yoko Ono brings John Lennon's artworks to Manayunk

John never expected anything like this would happen - yet he would have loved the fact that it's happening."The speaker is Yoko Ono. "John" is, of course, her husband, John Lennon, Beatle, peace activist, and artist, who was murdered in 1980.It's a shock to reflect that Lennon would have turned 70 last Oct. 9. An exhibition of his artwork, titled "Yoko Ono Presents 'Imagine Peace': A Visual Tribute to John's 70th Year," runs in Manayunk Friday through Sunday, to raise funds for North Light Community Center, on Green Lane.

Plaque honoring Beatles' 'Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds' to go up in Liverpool

The song "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds" will be immortalized in a plaque to go up later this year in Liverpool.Lauren Voiers, who made the "Peace and Harmony" sculpture that was the centerpiece of the John Lennon 70th birthday celebration in the city last October, has been commissioned to make the new plaque. A childhood friend of Julian Lennon, John Lennon's son, Vodden inspired the original song that was first heard on the "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" album.

Default The Goastt performance at the armory has been delayed untill October

The Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger and theThe Flaming Lips performance at the Main Street Armory, 900 E. Main St. has been delayed until October.

City Newspaper
June 22, 2011

Seeing The Flaming Lips live in concert is a great spectacle. Whether it's the band emerging from a 30-foot vagina, or it's front-man Wayne Coyne rolling about onstage within a clear plastic sphere, the flamboyant act is an integral part of the attraction. Yet while there is no shortage of outlandish stage decorations, that alone can't sustain a band working over the course of nearly three decades. Utilizing a mix of its vast, eclectic catalogue of spacey alternative rock-psychedelic pop, The Flaming Lips have adapted to the times and remained relevant. The band has elevated its live show to an art form; this is a band you'll be sorry to miss. With The Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger. The Flaming Lips performance at the Main Street Armory, 900 E. Main St. has been delayed until October.

Default Please vote for John!!!

Share the word out there to everyone. John Lennon formed, named, and led the greatest ROCK and ROLL band in history. He wrote many timeless classics including "Strawberry Fields Forever," "Help," "Across The Universe," "Come Together," "I Feel Fine," and "In My Life" amongst many, many more. John Lennon was endearing, charismatic, and a true artist. He created a peace campaign along with his second wife, Yoko Ono, which continues to inspire and influence millions around the world. He was responsible for writing brilliant anthems like "Give Peace A Chance," "Instant Karma," "Happy X-Mas (War Is Over)," and "imagine" as well as classic albums like Plastic Ono Band, Imagine, and Double Fantasy. John campaigned for women's rights, an end to discrimination, and the popularity of :Make love, not war."

He was a true revolutionary, a leader, who's flame has not died down since his passing 30 years ago to a deranged man.

Please vote for John and share this with everyone!!!! He deserves it!

Beyond Abbey Road
A new feature film by an Indian-American producer captures the enigma of Brian Epstein, the controversial manager of The Beatles

New York-based TV producer Vivek J Tiwary is not your average Beatles fan, who lives in your imagination. He is rather imaginative himself. His interest in the band stretches beyond the virtuoso of the four mop-top styled boys from Liverpool singing their simple, yet relentlessly provocative numbers. He doesn’t settle with the band; instead explores Brian Epstein, the band’s manager for six years and his life around The Beatles.

Thanks MsLinds. John did not come close to winning that stupid poll and I'm fine with it. The results are tainted with infatuated teenagers and the like. John is a better man to noot even be included. His greatness outshines the competition. I honestly couldn't find ay other news so I just posted that. lol!
