I would but I'm flying back to Seattle on Friday night because my best friend is out of town and I'd have no where to stay all weekend I really wanted to spend the whole weekend there but so it goes....

We're hanging out on Friday though, no exceptions. I already have a few surprises up my sleeve for you.

We'll be right around the Wiltern, only a few blocks away. Friday I really want to spend some time in Santa Monica but I'll have no way to get there! I'll figure it out.

You must must must do Joshua Tree NP. It's like you're on Mars. One end of the park is totally different from the other too - it's just a bizarre place. The coolest place I've ever been, I think.

Check out the 29 Palms Inn (next to the entrance to JP NP - kitchy little placemade of of a motel & several private adobe cottages built in the 1930's Great food & drink at the poolside restaurant too!

There is a Denny's Diner in the same building per se as the Wiltern - about 400 hundred feet from the front enterance.

There's also lots of "Korean BBQ" places all over since this is in the heart of Koreatown.

There's also a fabulous place down on Western Ave about 10 blocks from the Wiltern called El Cholo - they are famous for their margaritas and sweet corn tamales.

I will try to make it - I just need a time and where and I will try.

Yes, or you have to be a member.

I would suggest a map to your room and a flashlight. Otherwise, the authorites may get involved.

When I get to the bottom I go back to the top of the slide. Where I stop then I turn and I go for a ride.

Isn't El Cholo where Mick asked Stevie and Lindsey to join FM? Or they went there to celebrate after they joined? Why does this seem to have an FM connection? Someone please refresh my memory...

I don't know that it was El Cholo, seeing as it is so far from Van Nuys. For some reason I think it was a Mexican place in the valley. Casa Vega? I am not sure the name was ever mentioned in the interview but maybe Casa Vega just sticks in my head because it is down the road from Conway Studios and has always been such a rock star hangout.
I can see it being that place because it is dark and sketchy and they have that cheesy drive up valet under the arch.

Got it. Thank you Google. From Carol Ann's book, she and Lindsey went to El Cholo, Lindsey's favorite mexican restaurant, to celebrate after picking up Lindsey's crazy kimono blazer outfits for the Tusk tour.

Just google Fleetwood Mac El Cholo.

How ridiculous that I just saw and held those friggin' jackets last week. LOL. Man was he skinny in 1980.

Small world.

Thanks for the flashback Fm77.

Try the Novel Cafe...better than Denny's and in the same Wiltern building.

No way, that place is way to mellow. Even though I won't be in attendance El Cholo is a fabulous choice and you can get as rowdy as you want.

I thought I had read that's where Lindsey and Stevie went to meet Christine McVie; Mick wanted to make sure she was ok with another girl in the band. Maybe it was another restaurant. El Cholo is pretty popular in LA and has been around forever.
