Dallas 83 is all my time favorite solo show of Stevie's. She is crazy!

"Do you get into...GOLD DUST"

"I don't know anybody else who has a ZZ Top keychain. I want the red car now. I'm calling them tomorrow. I want the red car!"

Outside the Rain- "And then Mick says it's just one more link, one more link, Stevie, in the goddamn chain!"

Sara- "But when you build that tangible, weak house. . ."

"I have got to stop writing about my life. It's really ridiculous."

HSML- "I don't get angry, but when I do you better watch out."

Rhiannon dedication- "I would like to dedicate this to Mr. Joe Walsh. Can he play? Yes, he can. (sings) Can he play. . . yes he can. . ." Love. It.

And then Sharon belting out "Would you even try!" towards the end.

Ah, such an entertaining show.

Remember these words...

And her friend put her head down on the table
And she cried, and she said,
“Well… can he play?”
Yes, he can!
She said, "Well, can he play?"
Oh, yes, he can!
My friend said, "Can he play?"
And she said, "Yes, he can!"
Well, can I dance with this man?
Yes, I can!!
Ooh, can he play?
I said, "Yes, he can!"
Can he play?
Well, well, yes, he can!
I know...
Can he play?
And I think, "Yes, he can..."

Default Dallas, Ames, IA, Giants Stadium, etc.

She's out of her mind not to release the soundboards of these shows and sell them to us!

More Dallas 1983 awesomeness:

"In the still of the-- I refuse to carry equipment!"

"They say you're not the man for me
What do they know?!"

"I don't get angry
But when I do: watch out!"

All as she sings "How Still My Love"...

I must say that these "new" Wild Heart shows have invigorated my interest for me to revisit hundreds of CDs of bootleg shows that I've collected over twenty years -not just from Stevie, but also Fleetwood Mac, Lindsey, Christine etc... They have layed dormant for a long while. All of them reside in an antique two-draw file cabinet - my "vault." I had about 6 Wild Heart shows, but now that collection has gotten a big boost with these other posted shows.

Some have mentioned how wild her vocals were back then, citing her Dallas show. That made me want to pull out and listened to her other Dallas show a few years later, during her Rock A Little tour. WOW! What an amazing mess of a show...in a good way that I can only now appreciate. She was on fire! And the crowd was equally so. I like that years later, up to now, Stevie has matured and gained more control of her vocals, and delivers her songs with a measured consistancy in later years. But such was a time when the world was different; she was younger, and approached things with wild abandon.

I really enjoyed listening to this show. Most notable: Right off the bat she screwed up Gold Dust Woman. She went into the second verse by singing the first verse line "Rock on gold dust woman" which resulted in a moment of confusion. Then on the second song, Outside the Rain, the first verse went missing because she sang the last verse first! On Leather and Lace, she got completely lost. She would talk fast --babble in short spurts to the audience, but no one could understand what the hell she was talking about or referring to (I witnessed that at a Rock a Little show I attended). There was a lot of manic vocal improvisions, with words altered, and many ad-libs that often weren't very successful (but still interesting). Also, after performing Stand Back late in the show, Stevie left the stage, and the audience got a five minute Waddy guitar solo, while Stevie was "freshing up" sniff sniff.

It's fascinating look back to such a different time/space.

Yes, yes. Thanks for reminding me. I remember those long guitar solos used to drive me crazy, but not in a good way. His guitar was so frikkin' loud and would screech all the way to kingdom come. He played as if he were at a heavy metal concert.
