Lightbulb Pooh.

Yeah, it was disappointing to me. I was hoping Haley would RIP Rhiannon UP! She didn't. If she had just let go, it would have been better. I notice that she slurred some of the lyrics...must have been trying so hard to remember them. When she sang "Rhiannon IS like a bell through the night..." I went "Wuh oh." LOL

She did the Led Zep justice though.

Haley is my favorite, but she did kinda give a half-ass performance of Rhiannon. she said she was a fan, her mom was a fan and she grew up listening to Stevie so how is it she didn't really know the words...they aren't that hard to remember. I wish she would have just cut out the piano, sang a verse and chorus and then tore into the vamping at the end. a GREAT opportunity to show off her husky voice.

I will say that I did enjoy the softness she brought to the song. it just wasn't right for a competition and for trying to outshine the other 2.

the wind was fabulous though.

Agree with both of you on most points. She hit the high notes beautifully, and the end started to build nicely - then just stopped. Could have been worse, but could have been so much better.

Rhiannon was not the right song for any idol final. Haley did what she could with it in the short amount of time.

A week? I don't think it's that difficult to memorize the words to 2 or 3 songs in a week, it's not like they were newly written.

But I agree that Rhiannon may not have been the best option. TBQH I think GDW could have been a better choice for her. or even Dreams (although I think Jimmy wanted more of a rock tune, and Dreams is too mellow.)

Forgot to say that I HATED the wind machine - it got a bit "Stevie-impersonator" for me there.

This version was much better, but I'm not sure that it would be right for finals either.

She lost me right then. I know I'm a biased bitch when it comes to Stevie, but Haley couldn't even get the first line correct, after claiming to be a fan for so long?

She is really good. Even Stevie screws up her words at times.

I didn't like it.
She doesn't have a bad voice, she just didn't do the song justice IMO.
I don't like the way she kind of mumbles...anyone else notice that? I don't know, for me I felt like there were parts where I could barely hear what she was saying.

Oh I noticed it - she did it every time she didn't know the lyrics. Past years, contestants would have been skewered for forgetting lyrics this late in the competition. This year, they're like "it's all good, everyone screws up, you're in it to win it!"

I remember Stevie talking about Chris. She said she imagined that Christine was raising sheep or something. She definitely made Christine's life seem more bucolic than it actually is. I had to laugh.

Haley got voted off tonight just like the last girl that sang a Stevie Nicks song at the Top 3 stage (Nikki McKibbin sang Edge of Seventeen in season one's top 3)

I thought I would share this post from the IMDb American Idol board about Haley possibly playing Stevie in the rumored biopic

"Now Haley can star in the Stevie Nicks bio-pic!

They've been trying to cast that movie for over 5 years. They even had Lindsey Lohan as a possible star a few years ago, but of course that fell through. With Jimmy Iovine as the executive producer, he can get Haley cast in the starring role and she'll be PERFECT for it! In 2 years when she's accepting her OSCAR for the role, we Haley fans will be having THE LAST LAUGH! Those of us that truly know talent will appreciate seeing her have a long career in both music and film, while you fickle tweentards will have forgotten about generic Scotty within 10 months! "

I do think Haley resembles a young Stevie somewhat. Check her out here with the hat:

I think it was Rhiannon what done her in ...for the most part only Stevie can do Stevie.
