Cool Something I've written....

Yea, so I hesitate to post this here but I figure, what the hell? I know some people will enjoy it.....others? Not so much. Okay, so ordinarily when I compose songs, they're about myself and from my own general frustrations and issues. Usually it happens at 3 in the morning and I either haven't fallen asleep yet or I wake up because I have a zillion thoughts running through my head. However, the other evening I just started writing and my pen couldn't stop. Don't ask me why this thought even occured to me. This was composed in about 15 minutes and It's basically how I think Stevie has always kind of felt about the one and only greatest guitar player, sexy intellect, Mr. Lindsey Buckingham. Ya know, her kind of "I want you but I don't want you" contradiction that she's always displayed ("you only want me when I get over you"). I can see her singing this. Hmmm... now to pass it off to her...lol..So, without further or due, I present to you my song. I've been singing it for the past day and a half...it's upbeat like Destiny Rules so keep that in mind.

Queen of Hearts
By. Marissa M
With lyrical inspiration from my best bud Meredith

We can't be together
that's what I said to you
Just let me be now
To my heart I must be true
This thing that we are-
It cannot ever be
So why don't you ever-
stop pursuing me?

We broke apart years ago-
Or was it that we severed?
You hated me and I loved you-
through many storms we weathered
I hated you then you loved me-
We cannot be together

Even if you love somebody
It might not be enough
Circumstance beyond control--
Times go bad and times go rough
But it's no ones fault
Oh, it's no one but your own
Your Queen of Hearts--
you left her all alone
(she went home)

Sitting by the ocean--
sitting in the night
You're reaking havoc on my brain
and baby that ain't right
I never thought you'd keep me
in your house up on the hill
But now you've torn it down again
You made me loose my will

You can build false kingdoms
all your castles in the sky
But I won't let you forget
all those tears you made me cry
No, you never will forget
you left your Queen of Hearts behind
(you said goodbye)

Even though you love somebody
It'll never be enough
Circumstance beyond control
Times go bad and times go rough
But it's no ones fault
Well, no one but your own
Your Queen of Hearts--
(you left her all alone)
Your Queen of Hearts--
(she's stepping off her throne)
Your Queen of Hearts--
(don't call her on the phone)
Your Queen of Hearts--
(broken down and stoned)
I said you've left her all alone--
well you've left her all alone--
well you've left her all alone--
She went home
(Oh, how I'm so...alone)

I had to edit this because evidently I can't spell..lol

What talent!
I can completely see Stevie singing this.
At the same time, the style is slightly different from hers (as you know). She never rhymes this well.
Plus, other than the Dylan cover, I'm not sure I've ever heard her sing about being stoned without masking the lyric a little more.
When are you going to record this & put it up here?
Some of us don't make it to the Night of 1,000 Stevies, you know.

I didn't mean "stoned" in the context you're thinking..lol...I kind of was leaning more towards broken down/put down and hurt but hey, as Dylan says, "everybody must get stoned!" lol. Unfortunately, I don't think i'm a Night of 1000 Stevie's kind of gal but I may mess around on my computer and record this a capella style...we'll see Thanks for the compliment Jake

Wow, what a lovely song! I could totally hear Stevie singing this. I love to hear the melody you have to go with this. I hope you post more of your songs

Love and happiness from Sarah

Yea, so I tried recording it with my little crappy computer microphone and well, it makes me sound like darth vadar so until I come up with a better way, you'll have to insert your own little funky tune...lol
