English is so mangled these days. The worst offense for me comes from those trying to sound educated and not use "me", presumably stemming from childhood memories of Elementary school teachers "correcting" them back in the day in the incorrect usage of that word. So, now, instead, we get everyone using "I" so very wrongly.

"The love between her and I", "It was a gift to her and I", etc., so very wrong. "Her" is the object of the preposition, so the first person pronoun should be "me". But everyone's trying to make themselves sound all educated, so they say "I" in a completely incorrect way. This phrase is also made worse by saying, "The love between she and I" -
