Default Leather & Lace on the Voice

Was just watching The Voice & 2 contestants had to square off against each other. One guy & one girl. The song chosen for them to battle on was Leather & Lace. And while I don't think either of them did very good, Adam Levine went on & on about what an amazing artist Stevie is & how hard it is to tackle one of her songs, etc. I thought that was really cool to give her such a positive shout out on the show. He even said she's "one bad ass bitch" at one point, while they were rehearsing. Then after the girl won & advanced to the next round, the judges said she reminded them of a young Stevie. I didn't see any similarity other than long permed hair, but still cool to see Stevie being talked about so highly on popular tv shows.

They actually sounded really good together ... I think the girl singers voice has a little quiver in it which is probably what connected her to Stevie... that and the fact she's young and pretty. But I thought they sounded wonderful together...

That would be awesome. But tonight reminded me how she always said the only 2 people who could sing that assing are her & Henley. It's true. It really is complicated to sing well, even tho it's such a simple song. But that's the beauty of it.

Crystal Vision is #63 and Bella Donna is #150 too, I actually think before the summer is over Crystal Visions could be gold and Bella Donna could be certified 5x platinum. She is getting some love.

Default Leather and Lace on the Voice

Adam Levine had his contestants sing LnL. told the girl "Stevie is THE bitch" like no one could sing like her! CeeLo said the same thing in his critique.! only wish they mentioned IYD. oh well.

I was sitting on the couch with my laptop with The Voice on in the background, and as soon as I heard them mention Leather and Lace, my laptop was slammed shut and my ears were perked.
As they were preparing to do it, I kept saying to myself "please don't suck, please don't suck..." The guy who sang it was from Minnesota, as am I, so if it sucked I would be appalled as both a Stevie fan and as a Minnesotan, I guess.
I really wasn't too crazy about it. I guess it wasn't bad...just really weird and different. The girl singing had a much higher voice than Stevie. I'm not used to it being sung in such a high voice. Also, they were really belting it out more and holding notes and stuff. I'm used to it being a more pretty, melodic song. Lighter. It was interesting.
Cee Lo (I don't know how the hell he spells his name, in terms of capitalization and dash usage and whatnot, but whatever) told the girl that she reminded him of Stevie Nicks, which literally made me go "WHAT?!" I guess I could see it in her personality a little - she's very bubbly. Reminded me a bit of Stevie when she was younger. Musically though, I saw no resemblance. It was very odd.
The whole thing was very interesting. I loved hearing Adam commend Stevie like he did. He seems like a pretty cool guy.

Why would they mention In Your Dreams though?
"Hello, I'm Adam Levine, one of the judges on The Voice. Two of my contestants just sang Leather and Lace so while we're on the subject of Stevie Nicks, I would just like to remind you all that Stevie Nicks has a new album out RIGHT NOW! In Your Dreams, now available in stores and online."
As interesting as that would have been, I actually would have found it very strange if they brought up IYD. It's a singing competition. Someone sang a Stevie song; that doesn't mean they have to promote her album. Maybe if it was a song from IYD, but not a song that was released 30 years ago.

Adam Levine is so gorgeous, but I couldn't be forced to watch a music talent show... Unless there was Stevie content!!!!! Bad me, I missed it!!!

I thought she was good but not a young Stevie....but then again she is a young white gal who can sing with some quivers in her voice. Just fyi - I love Cee Lo so f**king much...just for being him.
