On a different thread I guessed it would do 48k. As I stated earlier I hope IYD is around 20k 4 weeks from now. It is now up to how the Idol and DWTS performances shake out .

I would guess 10k in 4 weeks. Sheryl Crows last album only sold 150,00 and Stevie's looking at about the same, unless something WORKS for her.

I'm confused. What are you talking about? Last I saw it was looking like Nicks might debut at #6.

Dude, it was in 2009. And that "dingbat" has been around A LOT longer than our Stevie has and she's still working and going strong. She's been the #1 selling female recording artist in the US for almost a decade now, and made over 30 studio albums in a 40 year career span. Dingbats sure do well for themselves.

Anyway...Stevie was in the Top 10 on iTunes for almost a full week, and consistently stayed in the top 10 on Amazon & Barnes & Noble.

My guess is a #5 or #6 debut. She has made an amazing album and it deserves to be heard by everyone else out there. Too bad she got sick when she did....the timing seriously sucked.

And honestly, I highly doubt that releasing a different single would have made ANY difference at all. No one over the age of 35 gets played on Top 40 radio anymore...whether you are Streisand, Stevie Nicks, Cher, Heart, Pat Benatar or WHOEVER...and that's the truth.

I kind of think that artists in their 50s and 60s are only going to sell anything to hardcore fans. Whether they've built up the kind of long-term fanbase that will still buy their albums decades after the peaks of their popularity has less to do with talent than with their appeal to obsessive niche groups.

Barbra has massive Jewish and gay followings (both incredibly lucrative as fanbases). Stevie has a good solid hold on Wiccans and aging hippies, but nothing as significant as Barbra's. But compare her to Pat Benatar, whose career was more highly regarded than Stevie's solo work, but never had a niche appeal--she's still considered a legend, but can't sell an album.

And I think she still has new fans who are continuing to jump aboard the Stevie express. I know I sold a few tickets myself this week.

Barbra and Stevie do NOT have the same core audience. Barbra's song selection is far different than Stevie's, and her voice is not suited for Rock music (nor is she identified with the few "rock" songs she's done.)

Barbra's following also includes her fan base for her many movies (almost all were hits), and also for the fact she rarely tours, so she's under-exposed to many.

Why in the hell is anyone talking about Barbara Striesand? She is a singer. Yeah, she's got a great voice and can CHOOSE great songs, but I would hardly say she is an artist.
