Looking at the Extra video Stevie posted, I don't think Stevie was talking about Lindsey being one of the 2 people she fell in love with at first sight. One was a famous rock star and she doesn't say that the other was Lindsey -- well she might have because then they talked about Lindsey. Maybe that part was edited out of the video.
But just looking at the clip, based on past statements, I would say Joe and Rupert. Didn't she say she walked right into Rupert's arms the first time she saw him and she came and sat right in Joe's lap when she saw him or something like that? Michele |

I thought the same thing about the video and mentioned it a few pages back. It could have been the way it's edited, but the way she said, "Well, one you know.." like of the two, there was also another whom we don't know. Even more confusing is how the written article words it to make it seem as if she met Lindsey AFTER she met Joe. ![]()

Love the last several pages of this thread, great to hear so many people expressing so well the thoughts about these two that I've had.
Despite whatever love was/is between these two, they are also clearly SUPER competitive with each other, and I agree with the previous poster who said they would eventually have broken up due to the strains of the business. In this way I don't think these two are any different than members of other bands. Pick any rock band you want, and always always always the two main players have a love/hate relationship: Jagger/Richards, Tyler/Perry, Daltrey/Townshend, Lennon/McCartney, sh*t even Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley bicker and backstab. The best example was a 60 Minutes interview in the last few years with Glen Frey and Don Henley. The interviewer himself (think it was Steve Kroft) commented on how when he was interviewing each one separately the other would make faces, roll their eyes, be totally bored...and they showed some of the footage. I think being in a band where you have to deal with another person day and night without a break for yearssssss on end kills ANY relationship. As much as I love speculating about them hooking up, part of me really does think they play up the fans' hopes and dreams about their relationship. Wasn't it a CNN interview together where Stevie said something to the effect that they get to go onstage everynight and pretend to have a romance..... She's no dummy .... ![]() |

Stevie said she commiserated with Don about being in a band but told him she had it worse, because he was never lovers with Glen (that she knows of, I guess). She said the band dynamics made it hard to be Lindsey's "old lady" because the band would want him to finish a guitar part and he'd come home and want her sympathy about the pressure he was getting from the band, but she couldn't give it to him as a girlfriend because inside the part of her that was a band member was wishing that he would finish the doggone guitar part too. So, it's business and romance interests colliding. Michele |

Swear to God, I think she thought he was someone else and was too embarrassed to admit it once she put her glasses on.

) this comment makes me wonder. I would not put it past Stevie to "pretend" to have a romance on stage. The woman has flat out said it's not about art all the time it's about selling records. I think she feels that way even more when it comes to the Mac than her solo records. The Mac is a cash cow at this point and she understands its purpose. But, I just can't see Lindsey "pretending" to do anything. He is always talking about the big machine, etc. The Destiny Rules doc. made it obvious, as if it hadn't already been, that he resists commercial pressures. So, why would he go up on stage and fake a chemistry with someone just to please consumers? I don't know maybe he would, but it just seems like a contradiction to everything he always preaches. And often times he is the one who is initiating it and is met with resistance by Stevie.

But now that he knows he can have his "little machine," he has embraced it. Three solo albums in...what...five years? Unheard of for LB standards! So as long as he can have the little machine for putting out his truly genuine, creative endeavors, he can go along with what is expected from the "big machine." |
