I love that moment on the Tusk video where she is smiling at Lindsey because it just seems so genuine. And I agree with you that moment holds many many years between them. Another moment like that is Landslide from The Dance. I get that same vibe between the two of them there...like look how far the two of us have come.

I almost always was the one who got dumped. I would be unhappy and want to leave. A few times even would have a talk with them about it and think we;d end things. they'd not want to. then a little while after, they'd cheat on me and dump me. i'd get furious. i never cheated on them. i tried my best to be there for them and make it work since they said they wanted us togehter. so, even if you are not happy and want it over, it still can hurt. (especially when you had very nice guys ask you out while your boyfriend was out of town and you would say no, and stay loyal, but they would not be). eventually you learn, but there is a lot of pain and saddness built up by then.

I seem to remember an interview years ago where Stevie said something about how most of her songs had a little bit of Lindsey in them. And I understand many songs have a lot of Lindsey in them! My initial reaction to WSS was that it was a retelling of the original story that tied in Rooms on Fire and Rupert in a way. And I know this may be totally off base but I flashed on Chris Isaak re FWIW though I don't believe a romantic involvement or riding around together on a tour bus of his or hers has been confirmed.

She had a bus on the Street Angel tour as well, which is the era she is referring to in the song. Definitely about Lindsey.

This has been bugging me for a while now... I remember an interview, I think it was around 2005-2006, that Stevie referenced to Lindsey by saying something like "you may be the one, but you'll never be the one". When I first heard the song I thought of that, but for the life of me I can't remember where I heard it before. Anyone? It's been so long since I've given any of this any thought.

No, I do think so! I hadn't seen it mentioned (I may have missed it) and was proposing it... ?? because I'm not sure if anythings been said about the song or if anyone knows something about it I'm unaware of that would indicate that it's not about Lindsey.

i'ma go back and look at that "extra" interview cause the guy said both lindsey and joe's name and i wanna see if her eyes closes! lmao!
