I totally agree. I think she is happy right now and very much into touring. I don't doubt the promoters and venues will be calling soon. She's a savvy businesswoman; I'm sure she learned alot through the years. She'll be jumping on all of it, IHO. It's what she does and who she is, period.

On a side note, has anyone out there in the fashion industry ever seen the pantyhose-custom-made-gloves before? They are so distracting --- maybe hiding the aging hands, or are they magnetic trreatment for arthritis, or seriously, some new fashion thing ?? Please, enlighten me..ugh.

i do like that she likes katy perry though. i just got into her and have been obsessed with ET too.
me too! it basically seems to be ..big arenas and top dollar or forget it ,as she said she does well in Australia she doesn't need an album to tour there ..Thanks for the slap in the face.

Actually with the gloves and all, I've been wondering if Stevie has had some kind of rejuvenation done on her hands. Some of the gloves definitely look rehabilitative. Smacking a tambourine against your hand for 40 plus years probably doesn't help.

She looks so pretty with her wavy hair, much better than the super-straight look.

agreed the wavy hair makes her look so much younger. i have been trying to figure out how to get those waves in my hair for years. its pretty long now but when i curl it with a curling iron it never looks like that!
i hate the gloves though. its almost summer and it looks odd to see her wearing those now when its warmer out.

i think if she played venus that hold around 5,000 people she would be able to go to more places and end up making some good money. in pittsburgh they just opened stage ae this year and it holds from 2,400 to 5,500 people and they have a ton of bands booked there from motley crue, goo goo dolls, a perfect circle etc. i read an article where promoters were saying the days of bands playing the big sheds are just about gone.

If the CD does well, I can see her doing a short U.S. tour in late summer/early fall, leading up to Australia.

As for her tour with Rod, it gave her massive media attention and also helped to put her back on the public's mind. Plus, almost every review I read mentioned she had a new CD coming out. Plus she looked really good, and even the few so-so reviews marked about how happy and fresh she looked. It was all very good PR.

I think at some point she gives up touring, or only does smaller shows. I can't really see her going on full-throttle much longer. She's looking and sounding good for her age, but she's still nearly 63, and the body starts to naturally slow down.

Great, this is exactly what I feared would happen. Can someone please tell me why it was a good idea for her to tour with Rod? I feel like that decision just sabatoged the entire release...what's done is done (and I'm probably just really heated from the fact that I think her touring with him and then being immediately shoved into aggressive promotion has every reason with why she ended up getting sick at the worst of all times) But now she's saying that touring with Rod has taken away the possibility of a tour supporting the release unless it does really well?? If she had time to rest for this time in her life that was so important for the release of the record, she would have really been able to see how all of the release date promo high-profile events would have helped the record. And...if she hadn't toured with Rod, she probably would have toured no matter how the record did.

I agree with all that you just said. This just sucks. And I'm convinced the Rod thing did help eff up the promotion for IYD. They cut it too close and now she's sick!

Does anyone here know - is it STEVIE or her MANAGEMENT that insists on her only playing large venues? Whoever it is, they need to get over it.

Jamie

I'm going to be a little annoyed if she does end up touring the US and Australia again but doesn't play at least one solo show in London. It's not like she's unknown here or couldn't sell out a show. Her association with Fleetwood Mac would surely guarantee a sell out or near to. She could play somewhere like Royal Albert Hall. I don't really want to pay for the Hard Rock Calling show in Hyde Park when I don't paticularly like Rod Stewart or anyone else on the bill.

I was actually looking at the box office date on FMLegacy. com and I was surprised to see that she's rarely been able to sell out a large arena on any of her solo tours post Rock a Little. I noticed that the smaller venues that held around 5,000-7,000 people sold out while the bigger venues of 10,000 + she had trouble with. Why put her in venues she couldn't possibly sell out as a solo artist? Some shows were less than 30% sold in a 15,000+ seat arena. She should just swallow her pride and stick to the amphitheatres and smaller venues etc.

Not to mention the fact that she's wearing them in the house

I thought "sheds" were "smaller", "outdoor" venues? No?

I think she'll tour (smaller venues). It just doesn't make sense. She's tours when she doesn'thave a new cd (with new material) Crystal Visions, Unleashed and Rod Stewart but then doesn't tour when she does have a new cd? Sometimes she just doesn't make sense

Try not to look at absolute sales/seat numbers. A show does not have to be a sell out to be a profitable show or to make back the promoter guarantee. In some markets, 30% capacity is expected or may even exceed that market for various reasons (day of week, geographical city, etc).

However, I'd like to see her do more intimate shows at smaller venues. In bigger markets, she could easily do 2-3 shows if the venue is small.

yeah the gloves are creepy!! yeah i guess sheds are really any outdoor venue huh? i guess i just thought of them as bigger ampitheatres. we have the first niagara pavilion here that can sell out at 20k but can also hold up to 23-24k . then there is stage ae that can be outdoors and hold 5,500 as well as the trib total ampitheatre that holds between 5,000 seated and 10,000 ga seats. heart came there last year and sold out the place. those were some tough tickets to get and i have been going to concerts for over 20 years now. i think it looks better to sell out smaller venues then to be playing somewhere like the first niagara and only sell half the tickets. she could come to stage ae and do 2 shows and sell just as many tickets.

i agree she doesnt make any sense. i dont know why this surprises me because i am a gemini as well and half the crap i say doesnt make sense. lol i am always contradicting myself, ha!!

Before the event started I introduced myself to Sharon and Lori who were sitting right behind me. I asked them about a solo tour after the Rod thing and it surprised me when they said they weren't sure. I mentioned that it wouldn't make sense to NOT tour after an album release and they agreed, but still weren't sure.

You can't trust Ms. Nicks, Lindsay.

I get what you're saying.

But if a show booked into a 20,000 seat arena was only expected to sell out by 30%, why not just put her in an actual venue (if one is avaliable) that fits the 6,000 or so seats she expected to sell? I just think it's stupid putting her in a big arena when she can't even fill it. There's nothing worse than going to a show and there being thousand of empty seats. It takes away from the atmosphere, to me anyway. On one of the dates she only sold about 3,000 seats of a near 20,000 arena. That's embarrassing.
