I'm not ready to rank all the songs, but I will say that New Orleans and Soldier's Angel are the clunkers. Maybe donate those songs to charity compilations?

Actually, no, they don't grow. I know how mountains are formed, just as you said, but that is not "growing", rather it is "pushing." Besides when was the last time Mt. Shasta "grew" from current measurements?

KarmaContestant has the right idea.

Apparently nobody told that to Stevie's bra all through the 1980s.

Annabel Lee
Italian Summer

Pfeh, this is semantics. In geological timeframes mountains get larger if they're being pushed (as you said) by plate tectonics, but in common usage people do constantly refer to mountains "growing", even in scientific literature: "Studying growth of Himalyan mountains..." http://www.research.vt.edu/resmag/20...mountains.html

I was just going to say, I hope people will start adding it to their rankings. For me, it's her worst release since the late 1980s, so a very distant last place. I am so glad it did not make the 'real' album, and I thank her for that.

these were two that I was dreading but I have to say I really like them. They and For What It's Worth and Annabel are the songs that sound the most like prime era Fleetwood Mac songs IMO.

I agree....I think "New Orleans", "For What It's Worth" , "Annabel Lee" and "Moonlight" all sound like lost or coulda been Mac songs.

"Soldier's Angel" could be....I think of it more like a BuckinghamNicks song.

I will also use LikeAWillow's system of dividing the songs into different tiers... (great idea! )

Tier One (these are tied for favorites):

1. Moonlight
2. Annabel Lee
3. Secret Love

Tier Two (these I am liking a lot!):

4. In Your Dreams
5. Everybody Loves You
6. Wide Sargasso Sea

Tier Three (these I like, but will probably need to grow on me some):

7. Italian Summer
8. You May Be The One
9. Ghosts Are Gone
10. New Orleans
11. My Heart

Tier Four (these ones just don't do much for me.. yet anyways):

12. Soldier's Angel
13. Cheaper Than Free
14. For What It's Worth

Last edited by jeffd8382; 05-03-2011 at 11:14 PM.. Reason: a couple adjustments in ranking within tiers

Ok, this was tough, and it varies with every listen. I think I would have Secret Love at number 5 if it hadnt been released so much earlier, I think there is some novelty for a lot of these songs still so, again, this changes constantly

1. Moonlight
2. For What its Worth
3. Wide Sargasso Sea
4. Italian Summer
5. Anabel Lee
6. In Your Dreams
7. Secret Love
8. Everybody loves you
9. Cheaper Than Free
10. Ghosts are Gone
11. New Orleans
12. You May be the One (just havent listened to it enough I think...)
13. Soldier's Angel

Hmmm Lets see....

1- Secret Love - Love it!!!
2- For What It's Worth - Love it!!!
3- In Your Dreams - Like it a lot (Is it me or did I detect a hint of Tom Petty?)
4- Wide Sargasso Sea - Love it!!!
5- New Orleans - Like it (but not as much-Need to listen to it again)
6- Moonlight - Don't care for it (I think one of the main reasons is that I'm utterly fed up with vampires. I wonder if they had taken out that part of the title I may have liked it better?)
7- Annabel Lee - Love It!!
8- Soldier's Angel - All right (maybe it will grow on me)
9- Everybody Loves You - All right
10- Ghosts Are Gone - Nope sorry
11- You May Be The One - OK
12- Italian Summer - NO Sorry not my taste at all
13- Cheaper Than Free - Sigh, sorry again nope.

Of course this is only my first go through so we will see if it grows on me after a few repeat listening.

I don't know if this has been mentioned, but I hear Stevie's voice.. younger. I don't mean it's getting like in the Rumours era, but when I listen, specially Secret Love, it sounds like a far more younger woman, better than in Say you Will.

I'm glad a lot of people are liking "For What It's Worth"... it actually frustrates me that I can't get into it at all, and I just can't figure out why exactly. I think the chorus evades me as though it doesn't exist when I listen, and the one note melody that begins the verses doesn't really agree with me either. I do like the guitar riff and the overall production has a very nice early to mid-70's folk/rock sound, which is probably the reason why I want to like this one so much.

Just call it "Moonlight" and ignore the subtitle. Most of us are.
