Same here. I felt awful texting her the news. What a mess.

I really feel terribly for Stevie and I'm keeping her in my thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery. Her CD will do okay- she just needs to take care of herself and get well.

I bet you are in shock. It is SO sad. The thing is, if you are able to get your money back for your tickets, your flight and hotel and other expenses won't be refunded.

Try to have a good time - somehow - and then just go home when you were originally going home. May as well make use of the hotel/flight.

I cant imagine how you are feeling now, but you're already there so make the most of it. Surely there are things you want to see/do in NYC!

This sucks for a lot of people on a lot of levels... but can a big ledgie party be arranged? I just feel so bad for all of you because I know how I would feel (and I feel pretty horrible about it to begin with!)

Maybe you can all attend NOTS together instead??

I completely understand how everybody's feeling and that their heart's in the right place. But I'd like to emphasize the "Guys - Stevie's sick!" angle of this. i.m.o. we should focus on the positive - at least she's not in the hospital. Maybe for somebody as physically fit and strong as her who's not 70 yet, it's not literally life-threatening - but it's starting to kinda-sorta-almost get into that kind of territory. i.m.o. if a doctor were asked flat-out by a family member, he or she would say something like, "Yes - I'm somewhat concerned."
Hopefully the shows will be re-scheduled.

Dani, I'm so sorry! For what it's worth, this happened to me in March when I went to Fort Lauderdale to catch opening night. I was momentarily bummed, but I kept repeating to myself that everything happens for a reason; there is no such thing as an accident. The fates brought you to NYC under whatever guise, so take it as a sign that it was just meant to be. Make it important. Go out there and experience it all. I think you will love it; I will never forget my first trip to NYC as a kid. You may learn something about yourself that you didn't know before.

I won't go into details, but my misguided trip to Fort Lauderdale was actually very good for me.

I don't think I'm ever going to travel a long distance to see a performer just because stuff like this could happen.

This is why when I bought my Michael Jackson tix I waited to book the trip last minute, and he passed away a few days before I was set to book hotel and airfare!

Yeah, I will not travel like that. If I was in New York right now I would be going apes**t.

Did it cross anyone else's mind the timing of the cancellation? Is it possible that maybe Stevie is concerned about being in NYC right now?

Second...I am so incredibly bummed out. I just cancelled my hotel reservations for NYC.

I called her PR office and asked about The Borgata show...as of right now, it is tentatively still on...not going to cancel my train and AC hotel reservations yet. The girl I spoke to at Liz's office was just as bummed as we all are about the show on Wednesday...it was going to be really special.

So sad those of us that were going on Wednesday won't be able to celebrate the album release with Stevie...sending "get well wishes" Stevie's way!!!
Did you happen to ask her if the Webster Hall show was going to be rescheduled?
