I'm thinking of the families of the victims of 9/11.

You're right. It's not like they don't have other evil lining up to take his place.

We are going to let down our guard and let disaster right back in, I'm afraid.

My brother and dad just ran into my room and we joined in singing "America! F*** YEAH!" à la Team America.

We were excited and making light of it, but on reflection I think Curtis is right: it's not really a laughing matter and we probably are in more danger right now--especially being in New York.
I really don't know how to feel, actually.

Oh yeah. They found him in a mansion in Islamabad. This is going to put a huge strain on our relationship with Pakistan.

Perfectly reasonable response...the Pentagon feels the same way.

That's a relief.

I just hope people realize that the symbol of evil has died, not the evil, itself. It's still a good feeling, though.

Agreed. I've been saying that he's the symptom, not the disease. Obviously, my heart goes out to 9/11 victims and their familes tonight-- how could it not? But I don't know what all this changes.

Default My question is...

If 9/11 ruined Trouble in Shangri-La for Stevie, how soon until she starts saying that the death of Bin Laden ruined In Your Dreams?

Too soon?

There's a crowd of people outside the White House singing the national anthem. after everything we've been through in the last ten years I think the country needs to collectively exhale. And good riddance to bad rubbish. I don't feel happy, in fact I feel more moved to tears. But if we are attacked again then it's all for naught. It's going to take a while to process this information. That one event changed the lives of every single one of us. I can only imagine that it must have felt like this when Germany fell in the second world war and Hitler committed suicide. I'm sure people wondered if there was going to be more. We'll have to wait and see what the president says. In the coming days we'll know much, much more.
