I"m not sure. I think Stevie has been getting better reviews than the Fleet Foxes but they are still ahead of her. Of course, their album has been and still is dirt cheap. Stevie has yet, to make any progress on iTunes though. And that really worries me.

Don't worry about iTunes. Digital albums are worth about 25% of the market overall. Stevie's market will generally be buying the disc, not downloading off iTunes, although I would still like her to be roaring up the chart there too.

Check out its current status:

Amazon Bestsellers Rank: #6 in Music (See Top 100 in Music)
#1 in Music > Classic Rock > Album-Oriented Rock (AOR)
#4 in Music > Rock
#6 in Music > Pop

*Edit: Sorry I just realized that this was posted from this morning, but it's fun to keep track.

She's doing huge on Amazon and Barns and Noble, but she's not doing fabulously on iTunes. So, I think it all evens out. Her demographic are more likely to buy off internet sites than iTunes, I'd say. Not to mention, they'd be more likely to buy it in the store.

Just to point out, JLO is only at #123 in Music. Gaga is at #71. Stevie is at #6.

This is kind of off-subject, but does anyone here know if there's a major difference in audio quality between buying songs directly off itunes and buying the cd , uploading it and putting it onto your ipod??

None at all, as far as I'm aware. As long as you upload and download to your itunes in the same format, it doesn't make any difference

That was a quick answer- thank you!

I ordered the Barnes and Noble version with the bonus track, but it doesn't look like that will be here before monday, so I will be going to Best Buy monday morning and getting the regular version as well.

I attempted to pre-order the album on iTunes Canada (I want the physical CD but I'm living in England at the moment and am not keen to wait til the long-off UK release date to have a copy, so iTunes it is for the meanwhile) and it kept saying iTunes had insufficient memory to process my request and to try again later. I then bought another album with no problems, so *shrugs*. Maybe iTunes is overloaded with Stevie pre-orders as it is? It's also worth noting that there isn't really a lot of point to pre-ordering an iTunes album altogether, so their numbers aren't likely to be as high prior to the actual album release.

Very glad to see it seems to be doing well everywhere!

CD is usually better quality. You can change your import settings and bit rate to make it a higher quality than an Itunes download.

Unless the mp3 is offered in Lossless format there is a difference between mp3 and cd quality.

An mp3 by its nature is lesser quality than a cd because of the compression used to save space and make it easier to download and store. This results in a cutting off of the high and lower ends of the recording.

The CD can hold a lot more info so the sound quality is better (as long as they master it that way).

Though to most people the difference is negligible and as the tech improves the gap is getting smaller and smaller in the difference in audio quality.

EDIT: Nuts not quick enough!
