Anne Rice fans: You remember when Lestat thought it was fun to be a rock star (wasn't that in Queen of the Damned?). I always thought that his music would have been like a male version of Stevie Nicks.....at least all the dark witchy songs!

I read the Witching Hour series (Witching Hour, Lasher, & Taltos) several times a year and have for over a decade. The books are huge, expansive, overwhelming, rambling, and INCREDIBLE! Considering when they were originally written (late '80s), the taboo subject matter discussed within the books is pretty shocking. Anne Rice has had a HUGE effect on me through these books. Through discussing the most dark, hidden, shameful aspects of humanity I think she helps people understand why others act the way they do, and why we think the way we think. You'll pick up/learn something new every single time you read the books, and I've read them dozens of times. If you like very dark, gothic subject matter set in lush settings (New Orleans mainly), you'll LOVE the Witching Hour series.

Louie, I love The Witching Hour, (Lasher, Rowan and her ancestors,) its my favorite of the series... I'm sure Stevie would love the all consuming devotion Lasher has for his human soul mates.

The Witching Hour series got better with each book. They are excellent. Unlike the first three books of the Vampire series, they are not self contained. You have to read the whole series. I was really disappointed that Anne did not write a follow up to the Mummy. That book was GREAT. My favorite books from her are Lestat and Interview With A Vampire. Anne lost her way though, especially after she turned Christian again. I'm not a huge fan of her Angel series or the last Vampire books.

I like Anne Rice and Stevie Nicks because they do the same thing: they take you into a whole new world. I always said Stevie was the Anne Rice of rock n roll.

She didn't like the church's attitude toward gays, among other things. Her son is gay you know and very proud of it.

Coming back to the Catholic church in no way equates being 'born again"that is purely an evangelical protestant conceit.All Ican say is thank God and the Blessed Virgin that Stevie has never been 'born again" that would have truly destroyed her art.

Well at least their are some demons ,vampires ,witches and owls to balance them out.

If Stevie has actually the Vampire Chronicles I am suprised she hasn't written a song about the child vampire, Claudia. I can totally see her doing that.

I'd rather see her inspired by that than Twilight film for sure but can't deny that I love the Moonlight song.

Has anyone else noticed at the 36 second mark in this song you can hear Dave say "Here we Go" - I hope that's only on the stream or else it will drive me crazy. I hear it every time and this is easily my current second favorite song on the album

Yes! I noticed it the other night, I was getting into the instrumental part before she started singing, and then I heard that; shocked the hell outta me

actually, i'm betting she has read/listened to them. i'm not positive (and don't wanna go dig it out) but in the Enchanted tour book.. one of the pictures of her house has cds and tapes on a table and you can clearly see an audio recording of one of the books...if i remember right it's "Interview" but it might be "Lestat" goin on memory here!! maybe I will dig the tour book out later...
