I miss Strandie. He was fiesty and hilarious.
I just checked, he's neither banned nor is his IP address blocked. The board has some quirks right now that we absolutely cannot figure out. This one will have to go on the list too. We have threads locking themselves, posts jumping forums, entire threads are vanishing, people suddenly get "moderator" next to their names, but do not have moderator privileges, etc.

that moderator thing has been happening for years. and strand's problem has been going on for years, too. so it can't just be the recent problems to blame.

Apparently we are a few years behind on software/program updates for the Ledge, but we don't have enough supporting/paying members to help offset the cost of upgrading. Moving to a different program & server has been debated, but then we'd lose everyone's old posts, join dates, etc.

i don't think the ledge has ever been a break-even business. dunno what the answer to that is.

Hmm, I don't know what the answer to this is. Has he tried logging in using different browsers? I've noticed sometimes that works for me with certain websites.

You're 100% right about that. The Ledge has always been a pricy labor of love for the person who owns it at the time (originally Marty, now Michele). Not to mention that our membership numbers (and in turn, supporting/paying membership) are way down from their peak in the early 2000s when Fleetwood Mac & Stevie were still riding the Dance wave.

when he first registered earlier today, he could log on & read posts, but not post. it said his account was awaiting administrative approval. now he can't log on at all. has his pending account been denied? the problems with his original account aren't browser/computer related - i have logged on to my account from his computer. something else is wonky.

makes sense. and since the current wave of new members seems to be mostly 16-19 year olds, i don't see those numbers going up any time soon.

I hope he gets it worked out. And I thought technology was conspiring against only me.

He's probably drunk (again) and couldn't see clearly.
