Default Radio Mentions of IYD & Errors

This morning on my way to work I was listening to 100.7 The River out of Raleigh, NC. The DJ mentioned Stevie Nicks and her new CD and I'm going...."You Rock Kitty!" and then suddenly the bottom dropped out, she said it was TIS. Nooooooooo....so I tried to call the station from my cell and forgot I was getting into a dead zone w/ no signal!
Well...at least some support, even though it was wrong.

OMG, don't even get me started on radio stations in Connecticut. Today, when I arrived at work, a co-worker informed me that the morning show on 96.5 tic (a station that plays a little of everything) were not exactly "promoting" her album. They always have a "Hollywood Report" and the person calling into the show doing the report mentioned that Stevie has a new album coming out...all of the DJ's did a collective yawn...

SMACK!!! I usually keep my mouth shut but e-mailed the station and told them how disrespectful it was to have a reaction like that on the radio for a legend that should be respected. And, that by having that reaction, it will instantly make people not even bother giving the album a chance...when they should have done their homework first to find out the amazing reviews it is getting and should be positively promoting this masterpiece..(which will in turn get them more listeners!)

This album really is bringing out a defensive streak in all of us, huh?

Oh that's just confusing.

What a big mistake to make.

I mean there's only about 10 years in between the two? Not that hard to figure out the difference.

I know everyone has a right to their opinion but, how can they be THAT wrong ?? Maybe we ( all the fans ) hear things differently? I have defended Stevie countless times. Sometimes i feel like a defense lawyer ! Lol Some people just don't get her or her music ! It frustrates me as well. I just want to scream, can't you all see how amazing this woman and her music is ?? Well at least around here you are understood !!

Yea I have to agree.Radio biz is strange. They favor artists and they dont give a hoot about some artists. And some DJ's dont do their prep work before they hit the mike.I know .I got friends in the biz and I done some work with them.I'm a mamber of a radio broadcasting forum.I see whats going on behind the scenes.
I tune in WTIC to.mostly sunday mornings to listen to Casey Kasems American Top 40.I mostly listen to Oldies WDRC FM which do play Stevie and FM tunes.

Here's another gripe I have. The store I work in is separated into 3 departments. I run the Book Department, but there is a Music and a Video Department. I had just worked it out with the Music Manager to play IYD in rotation all day May 3rd, when corporate came out with an 'authorized playlist' and IYD was not on there. Then I noticed we were only being shipped 5 copies of the album. On the DAY the album streamed on rollingstone.com, the order was reduced to 4 copies!
To add insult, the May New Release music poster arrived today. May 3rd had Donny and Marie's new album, but Stevie was omitted!!!

Jerks.

ya I am not a fan of 96.5 tic I am like you macfan I listen to Big D 103 102.9 WDRC FM, I95WRKI,99.1WPLR,102.1 Springfield,104.1FM, 106.9WCCC,95.9 The Fox out of Westport.
classic rock stations and oldies I like that is it I am not into the new music or new artists of today prefer my classic Legends older stuff instead and new music from the legends that is it you can't beat the rock legends of the 60's,70's and 80's, I like some 90's artists too.

What Kitty is usually a really cool chic, so glad that the dj later in the day got it corrected. I live on the Pamlico River "the big W" , an hour 30 min from Raleigh....small world

Yes I did record the whole Stevie -Rod weekend the Big D did on the weekend of the Mohegan Sun concert.Over 50 hours I recorded. I well edit it down.Yes I do love the oldies ,lite rock and country music.Back then in the old days TIC was nice with Stevie tunes.plus the interview with Craig. But I dont know about now.I only tune in TIC for Casey Kasem on sunday mornings.I know WHCN.105.9 the River probably play her new cd.Which I hope they do.They did play FM's "Say You Will" cd back in 2003.which was great.Anyway we will see if "cheaper Then Free" will creep into Country 92.5's playlist. That would be awesome. These days she has stiff competition with the young newcombers at the top of the charts and also radio airplay. Like any other legends have to deal with.
