Default IYD blowing up thanks to Rolling Stone?

I just googled "Stevie Nicks In Your Dreams" out of curiosity to see what I'd turn up and how much I'd turn up. It seems like this album is starting to blow up-I just scrolled through about 25 pages (which was just scratching the surface) of the results. I've never tried to gauge an albums' pre-release buzz by googling, so I have nothing to compare this to, but...

What I notice most is the volume of websites, but even more-so random blogs (e.g. a tennis blog, a Seattle lesbian blog, an Italian DJ blog, etc.) that mention with much anticipation the release of IYD. The other main thing I notice is that most of these are pretty new postings as almost all have a link to the Rolling Stone album preview.

Originally I wondered if the RS preview might hurt sales but now think that it might have the power to really spread the word in a sort of grass roots (i.e. blogging) way that might really propel this album to big exposure and hopefully sales.

Just curious if you guys think I am seeing this the right way? Seemed like we all were concerned it wasn't getting ample promo but maybe it is!?!

At first I worried that this would hurt sales (not that sales are the end-all/be-all). Mick complained that Tusk being played front to back on the radio hurt its sales. (A different era, but same idea.)

Now I think that making the songs so conspicuously available for free demonstrates how confident Stevie's people are in the potential success of this album, based on the greatness of the music itself. They're banking that, once people hear the songs, they'll want to buy them. I like this boldness & hope it pays off.

Back when Warner allowed Tusk to be played in its entirety, that was on the radio and people were able to record it. I’m sure there are some savvy peeps that can somehow record the IYD songs from the Rolling Stone site but my guess is that most people can’t. It’s simply a site for you to play the songs only. For anyone that is a marginal Stevie fan and is considering buying the CD, I think this is actually better than just hearing snippets because obviously a person is able to get what the song and CD really is, unlike with snippets so, I think this has been a good move on Warner’s part.

There are, there's been a "webrip" of the album floating around download sites since early yesterday morning.

I have it. I suspect the Rolling Stone stream is a 64 kbps rip. It sounds very good, but it's far, far from being CD quality; it's limitations can be heard with decent speakers, especially when compared to the official "Secret Love" mp3. Still, it's a great listen- just good enough to tide me over until my CD arrives.

OK, I figured the RS audio wasn't a HQ one, which was my point above that even though some are savvy enough to rip it, they are not getting a good sounding quality version of the music.
