I gotta say...after spending a week in Italy last September, at the end of summer - Italian Summer takes me back in a big way to those days there. The rain and wind on the last day sailing back into Venice - the roses, the bouganvillea, the palaces off the coast of Stresa in Lago Maggiore and the deep, deep blue of the Adriatic Sea.

Stevie captured the feeling of Italy like nothing else I've ever heard!

Exactly what in hell is Ghosts Are Gone supposed to be about? Has Stevie talked about it? I can't make heads or tails out of the lyrics.

The Mayfair Witches series is awesome, if you want to dive into some Anne Rice (I always preferred these to her vampire series). But also one of my faves by Rice is Violin. In the story the main character is missing and wishing for her runaway-lost sister, which to me, was symbolic of her real self missing, and wanting and wishing to reconnect with her real inner self again - her "gypsy" - she dances away from you, but you still see her bright eyes.....

Too bad Stevie, I think Rice lives in CA these days. She's wished for her ghosts to be gone as well.

Thanks everyone for the help! I made the changes and added the lyrics above. The whole album is now up there!

As for Ghosts are Gone.. it seems like it would be another ode to Lindsey, especially considering the ghost through the fog reference. But the 'the girls went home' and the 'lost girls' and 'the boys went home' kind of throw me for a loop.

I don't know but I can't help thinking this song may have been originally titled, "The Boys Are Gone," but changed to be more of Stevie song. There's not much "ghost" related lyrics in it except ghost in fog stuff and the ending. I really like it anyway..just an observation.

This is not a valid argument.

Bet you wouldn't say that to Bob Dylan.

Btw:

- When he first saw her, he fainted to the floor.

- We forgive - at least we try

- In the spirit of the Mardi Gras

- She sat in a chair for months just staring

Does anyone have any idea what she's saying in part of Ghosts Are Gone, the end and also what I guess is the chorus?
