I agree, but I still think it could be a great album.

Does this bode well for a new Fleetwood Mac album if there is one? They both certainly seem on a real creative roll here.
Well, she also said: "Or maybe Lindsey and I will go off and rent a house in Wales and do a Buckingham Nicks album. I have no idea, but I do know the music will continue."

So, hope springs eternal!

Does anyone know the name of the hotel that inspired Italian Summer?

If anyone has an Android phone, there's a way to listen to the songs on your phone.

I downloaded the Adobe Flash app and then opened up my browser to the Rolling Stone site and as long as the Flash app is on your phone you can open the preview link from the Rolling Stone website and the album will play. This will at least tide me over in the car until Tuesday - I just have to put the volume up all the way on my phone and turn my car radio off! I just have to make sure my phone is charged like all the time because leaving my browser open that much will definitely wear my battery down!

If anyone else already knew this, I apologize if it's repetitive, but I am still getting the hang of the whole app thing, so I was pretty pleased with my discovery!

I'm way late to the party on this.

Just listened and I think the album has everything, rock, blues, country, pop and a couple of those sweeping, plot culmination songs that makes you think you're at a Broadway play or watching a fifties panoramic movie musical (Italian Summer). As a whole, the album is breath-taking, really.

I would say that You May Be the One is my favorite after the initial listen, but we all know that type of preference thing is subject to change 1000 times. Righteous, indeed.

I didn't really care for Annabel Lee and New Orleans . . . ugh. It was boring and went on for an interminable length of time. I already knew Cheaper Than Free was a dud and I wish it wasn't the closer.

Everybody Loves You sounded good in the midst of the other songs. This is no hallmark entry like Everyday was. I didn't like it as much on its own, from what we heard, as I do in the context of the album. Actually, the same can be said of Secret Love, oooh wee. The album and the video have really elevated SL song for me.

I would say that if I was ranking the songs in order of preference, In Your Dreams would probably be down at #10, though I like it.

Soldier's Angel was meaningful commentary. Makes a statement and Lindsey's voice is very nice complementary.

The end of Ghosts of Gone reminded me of the great Wild Heart tracks that actually are best during the last 30 minutes when the song is fading out.

Love the vengeance in Wide Sargasso Sea. He fell to his knees when he saw THIS. I don't even think she should go on to say "kiss." I think just THIS is enough to give us an idea of exactly what prostrated him.

Loved the "strange, strange" chorus part in Moonlight.

This is a great album. I'm not ranking it above TISL right now. But along with Wild Heart and TISL, I'd put in my Top 3 Stevie solo albums.

Instantly, this is a vital part of the legacy. This record is like having a baby. Now that it's here, now that we have it, the idea that we might not have received it is unthinkable it. Can't imagine it not existing.

Michele

I hadn't thought of it like that, but I absolutely know what you mean. This album fits in so perfectly with what's gone before. It reminds me of Gift of Screws in that it seems to take the strongest elements of each solo album and blend them into something very cohesive and very complete in its "Stevie-ness", if you will.
Even if we don't get another Stevie album (and I hope she goes on making music for years and years!), this would be a wonderful way to tie the legacy together. Not just because it's such a good, solid album, but because it represents the best of what she's done over the years.

I need an Exorcist to get Everybody Loves You out of my body. I'm freaking addicted to this song. It's very Here Comes the Rain Again. I can't stop listening.

RS does this with an album every week.
So far they've made me buy Gregg Allman's "Low Country Blues" and Robbie Robertson's new CD. I was hoping they'd do this with Stevie and they did!

Can't wait to get the real cd in my hands and blast it on my stereo!

I'm pretty much in love with For What It's Worth right now.
I'm just hearing about rollingstone letting us listen to the full album.
I was gonna go to bed, but now I can't without listening to this whole thing.
I love her voice so much <3

In Your Dreams(song) is gonna grow on me...right now it's just like meh.
There's always one that does this, but I eventually LOVE it in the end.

It's a good thing I absorbed In Your Dreams and wore it out while I could. RS has now removed the stream. Maybe we were all wearing it out...
