Music Review
In Your Dreams (2011)
Stevie Nicks
Reviewed by Mikael Wood | Apr 27, 2011

Release Date: May 03, 2011; Lead Performance: Stevie Nicks; Genre: Pop; Production: Reprise Records

HAT TRICK Stevie Nicks's latest album is In Your Dreams

We'll never complain about hearing Stevie warble the word dreams; indeed, several times here she comes remarkably close to Fleetwood Mac's platinum-plated best. But In Your Dreams, Nicks' first studio album since 2001, is also streaked with the witchy-woman weirdness only she can bring: On ''New Orleans,'' she recalls her eternal desire to ''wear feathers and lace,'' while ''Soldier's Angel'' finds her intoning ominously about war. Crystal visions? Still intact.

Grade: A

Download these:
Plaintive ballad For What It's Worth
Strings-enriched Italian Summer

Us Rating: ****

The gold dust woman hasn't faded one bit! At 62, iconic Fleetwood Mac frontwoman Stevie Nicks has turned out the finest solo album of her four-decade career. It's powered by her unmistakable, ageless vocals and intricate storytelling, from the enchanting first single "Secret Love" to the understated serenade "For What It’s Worth" (which mirrors her 1975 Mac classic "Landslide"). (Reprise)

I'm so happy for Stevie that these reviews have been so great (so far). She is so proud of this album so I'm glad she's getting recognition for it. Im so proud to be a fan today!

I LOVE the fact that all of these reviews have been so good. It really is an amazing album and it's nice to see it recognized. I hope good reviews keep pouring in!

Nice interview! I don't really care what star Rollingstone gives albums. They are usually very genuine articles. Like, you can tell they don't just listen to it once in the background and then write something up. I always enjoy reading what they have to say

Rollingstone is still the IT music magazine.

However, I'm really scared because this place is becoming spammed with opinions on the new songs and links to streaming. I wanna wait until I have the copy in my hands but it will definitely be hard

I hope you're right, but you know how the effin Grammys have gone lately. I wouldn't be surprised if Willow Smith was nominated in the same catagory as Stevie.

If that happens, I will definitely shoot my TV.

Or worse, they could pressure Stevie to sing WITH Willow. "I whip my shawl back and forth! I whip my shawl back and forth!" Might make me long for the gentler days of Stevie with Taylor Swift.
