Secret Love and Cheaper Than Free are the least interesting songs on the album, and yet they release those first, I don't get it

These are some of the best lyrics she's written in a damn long time. Next week, I'll download it and I'll be able to examine it closer, but at first listen...this is an amazing album.

Now that I've heard the whole album, there isn't a whole lot of Sharon and Lori?

They did the same thing with TISL, I thought "Everyday" was probably the weakest song on that album.

Me too! It reminds me so much of the Rock a Little era versions of this song, and how hauntingly faithful the beginning is with the demo. Her voice is so soft and pliant on these songs. She's singing in a lower range mostly, but her control and delivery are so beautiful... this album is really the one we've been waiting for.

OMG in Rolling's Stone review, the reviewer said that Secret Love wasn't even one of the best tracks on IYD

I must be in a slight minority with these two:

-Soldier's Angel, eh... pretty much what I had expected it to be... a lot like Desert Angel and Street Angel to me, skippable at this point. A little too repetitive
-New Orleans, also a bit repetetive. It reminds me of Pussycat Dolls "When I Grow Up" a little bit. Like you could mash the two... "I wanna wear beads, I wanna wear feathers, I wanna have boobies" no?

BUT, Moonlight is now one of my favorite solo tracks!

Are you kidding me? Desert Angel is one of the most wretched things she's ever recorded. It in no way compares to Street Angel (one of the best songs on a very dull album) or this. IMO.

Soldier's Angel & New Orleans were the two songs I thought might be clunkers on this album, because they had the most potential to fall victim to Stevie Self-Indulgent Syndrome, but I was very pleasantly surprised.
