Default Get Stevie into this years Top 40 on Last.FM

So I'm a member of Last.FM and at the end of the year, they do this count down where they show the most played artists of the year.

I think we should try to get Stevie into it for press and such. Who's with me?

All you'd have to do is join and play.

Plus she only has like a million plays. We must get her up.

If someone can explain how Last.fm works, I'll do it!

I've never been able to figure the dang thing out.

Also for anyone who doesn't use last.fm, it is really easy. You just sign up and you can install its program on your comp and when you play music in programs such as iTunes, it tracks what songs you play and scrobbles them to your profile. Also, if you have an iPod it can scrobble your iPod plays too. So it isn't like you have to listen to Stevie on the Last.FM website, but they do have customizable stations like Pandora if you are into that. It is pretty interesting to look at you stats too. I've been a member since 2006 and I've played 43,407 songs of which 6679 were Stevie songs and 2650 were Fleetwood Mac. It also tells you your top artists overall, and you can look at monthly or weekly, so my top 3 artists overall are Stevie Nicks, Fleetwood Mac, and Jack's Mannequin, but my top 3 artists this week are Stevie Nicks, Taking Back Sunday, and Paramore. It also breaks down your top album and tracks! My top played track this week? If You Ever Did Believe with 11 plays. You should def join!

AH That makes so much sense.

As soon as I get my computer fixed and back in working order (which should be by this weekend, fingers crossed) I'll definitely download this and use it. I've been using various family members computers for about a month, and have had no access to any of my music besides my CD's and youtube... disastrous.

Ooh, so it co-operates with iTunes rather than being an independent program? Interesting, I always thought it was used INSTEAD of iTunes. I might sign up afterall!

I've had one since last year, I'm kinda addicted to it. Lately my iPod hasn't been able to sync up my plays though, which is mainly how I listen to music. Bummer.

Another cool thing about Last.FM is when you listen to a song on iTunes, it puts that song in your Last.FM "library" and if you are on a computer without your music, or say your Xbox, you can listen to your personal "station" and it only plays songs you have played before. Of course, it randomly chooses the songs and you can skip any song you don't want to hear, but you can't choose to listen to a specific song thru last.fm. Another neat thing is it also has a "mix" station for you, which includes songs that are in your library and songs that aren't in your library, but based on your music taste you might like them. I usually crank up my mix station thru my xbox while I am cleaning and I usually discover a new song or two

^ Oh yeah, I remember when I first joined I thought you could only listen to the radio stations. I finally scrolled down on the home page and saw the "Do More" section and downloaded the scrobbler program.

I sent you and saintvox a friend request, btw!

http://www.last.fm/user/GeneralArtemis Et voila!

Wow, I had no idea I'd listened to Fleetwood Mac that much. Then again, I have had this PC since 2008, so it's keeping track of all my plays since then...
