Ha! Both of them have performed free concerts in Denver for gay pride festival over the last few years. My boyfriend loves Tiffany, and about lost his mind when he got to meet her and take a picture with her. He drunkely whispered in her ear "I fukcing love you!" while the photo was being taken and she looks like she's wondering if this might be a potential stalker situation about to bloom.
A friend of ours works at the hotel she was staying in, and was part of her concierge team so he made sure we got to chat with her before they whisked her away in the limo.

Quote:
I remember back when her first album came out she mentioned being a Stevie fan. I had her album and I think there were a few songs where she sounded a bit like Stevie. I think specifically "It Should've Been Me" did.

Come to think of it, doesn't that song kind of sound like 'Talk To Me'?

I hear it big time (rock'n'roll star) in this one:
I actually remember an interview with Debbie Gibson at the time where she explained the differences between them. She said something like "Tiff's idols are Pat Benatar and Stevie Nicks or whoever, while I'm more in the vein of Olivia Newton-John." |

Tiffany has expressed being a huge Stevie Nicks fan several times over in interviews through the years. On her "self titled" 1st record, she very obviously borrows and sometimes verges on downright mimicking Stevie's vocal stylings esp on "It Should've Been Me"
That was one of the only reasons I bought that CD in 1987 And Stevie's influence is still clearly evident today in this current photo of Tiffany... ![]() (Tiffany "Rose Tattoo" Album Art 2011) Last edited by Christopher; 04-21-2011 at 05:11 PM.. |

I know next to nothing about either of these women. I grew up in the 80's and their music just never played a role in my childhood. I'm curious what others here think of them, or thought of them, when they first appeared on the scene. Whose music did you prefer between the two? Who did you prefer in general? I always find all these 80's stars that I never really listened to fascinating to read about for some odd reason.

I was a little two old to enjoy them.I thought they were good.At that time I was in deep hey in the barn listening to country music.at times i spin the dial to find Stevie,Lindsey or FM on the dial.If Debbie or Tiffany was on .I probablly let their song finish.to compare to todays tunes .they won 100 percent.
