You're who had a WHAT!?!?!?!?!?
I've been searching for the complete recording for YEARS. I don't know of any fans that have a copy of the whole show!

Silylily, you're busted and that version you're talking about was a remix of the HBO SHOW. Next time, pick up the phone and just ask me these things before posting to the world! Okay, "That's Alright" since you were just being your own dear "Sweet Girl".

Thanks, The WILDheart, I do have a recorded remix of this somewhere but it's somewhere in my boxes of storage. I'll find it soon.

I cannot believe you guys are Ledgies. I watched this video when I was first getting into Stevie and I bought 'Enchanted' after watching this, because I loved the song so much and had no idea where to find it. You two are practically responsible for my Stevie obsession!

Default Great show, lousy audio files (Stevie Nicks live, Mountain View California 1986)

[later] Oops, I posted this in the wrong thread. I'll repost it where it should be.

There's one more recording of the same show with HAEWAFY. I'll find it and post later.

I know what video you're talking about. I used to LOVE that video quite a few years back, I had such a 16 year old crush on the guy. I thought, "finally, another younger dude who is as much into Stevie as me." Going to watch it now.

The last songs I posted are, as far as I know, the most (I know, gasp) cleaned-up versions available since I'd slowed it down to its proper speed and re-EQ'd and recorded it back in the day. Most versions out there spin so fast they make you dizzy and she sounds like Minnie Mouse. I was at that show and I've never seen such hysteria there or at any other show. During Edge (she did no walk) I think the coke was really starting to get to her since she was practically hallucinating that her fans were closing all around her like a glove, and she kept throwing a pointed finger at everyone shouting, "Stand Back! Stand BACK!"! The best part of this show is where she returns to the stage before HAEWAFY, profusely apologizing to the fans (after getting her butt blown with cocaine?), saying "I only get mad for about 5 minutes and then I'm not mad anymore!". She talks about how it all started for her in San Jose and then goes into the song HAEWAFY, which is really heartfelt and great. Sorry about the "butt jab" (no pun intended).

This is one of my all time favorite SN songs...the live version from the HBO special is killer. I agree that show should be released on DVD.

Thanks for posting the studio versions...I had only heard one.

I remember seeing this concert on HBO when it first aired. It was around the time Stand Back was out (unless they were just repeating it to promote the new single) and I kept watching, hoping to hear Stand Back and Gypsy and being really bummed. I wasn't a huge Stevie fan yet, just starting out. Then years later I had this show on VHS in the late 80's when I was in college. I hooked up my VCR to my stereo and put Gold And Braid on a mix tape and played it to death! I was so excited when I saw the Enchanted box set had it on there and I kept thinking it was going to be an actual unreleased studio track. Then I was a little bummed that it was the live recording, but yet happy that I'd finally have a really good quality version of it on CD. Then I was really happy to find that it was remixed for the CD. I always thought in the video that Waddy's guitar solo was so loud in the mix and kind of dry that it stuck out a bit much, and it's mixed in rather nicely on the CD.

My favorite part of the video is where she throws the tambourine. I don't know why, it just seems to fit with the energy of the song. She does the kicks, flails the tablecloth (I mean shawl) around, then the breakdown with the butt dance, then the side to side banging of the tam, then she tosses it aside for a big finish. This is what a live performance is all about.

All right I'm normally intimidated by the Stevie board (there are always SO MANY people here and it seems so intense) but I have to say something about Gold and Braid.
I don't even know what...
Well, it's in my top 3 favorite Stevie songs. Like has been stated several times already, it definitely should have been on an album.
I have several different versions and I love them all. So fun to sing along to. It's one of those songs that gets stuck in my head for days after listening to it just once. I never get sick of it though.

I have a version of Gold And Braid labeled "Unreleased Studio"...It's seems to be a full studio version and it does not have the prominent guitar that the live version has...The vocals are similar to the live vers (Stevie rockin' out)...Time is 3:54...Pretty sure the link is buried in the "Demo's" thread somewhere...Does this sound familiar to anyone?I would up-load to mediafire and post a link but my internet is unbelievably slow...Does anyone have knowledge about wire-less Broadband?.I don't seem to be able 2 do better than 15 kb/sec
