Gold & Braid Appreciation Thread

[tabruns]

Wait.....Stevie Nicks has gay fans??? heh

[markolas]

Let me see if I can figure out this mediafire thing and I'll post them.

Let me know if these links work:

Gold & Braid (Orson Welles outtake)

Gold & Braid (War of the Worlds outtake)

Gold & Braid ("vocal mix") - this is the echo-y voice one.

Yeah, they all work, thank you so much!

Not knowing the conversation they were having, the Orson Welles/War of the Worlds references are pretty random.

The double tracked vocals on the vocal mix one are weird. Glad she took the 'wisdom of old' line out too. Sounded unnatural.

I really love the Outside the Rain & Edge of Seventeen performances too.

The whole show is FLAWLESS. And you just know she has the original recordings of the full show tucked away somewhere...wish she'd bloody release it...bitch

Yeah, they were totally on that night, and it absolutely needs a re-release! It's a damn shame that you hafta hunt for a VHS copy to see it, and even that's in edited form. What were the other songs she performed? I remember Bella Donna and Think About It being mentioned, but what was the full setlist?

Still one of my favorite Stevie tunes. Never gets old.

I laughed so hard at the two of you dancing! OMFG! YOU'RE BOTH SO UTTERLY ADORABLE IN THIS VIDEO!

My DH recorded a remixed continuous version of this while he was P/T DJing while we were dating. He doesn't like it, but I do! I hope I find it before he gets home, because I want to share it!

I adore Gold and Braid. I remember seeing the performance from 1981 for the very first time and just being completely bowled over by her energy as she kicked her legs up and danced around the stage. Truly one of her best songs and performances. So glad it was included on the "Enchanted" box set.

Let's not talk about our lives before we married! He's gonna kill me.

What do you think?

I think I was single at the time.

Exactly - I believe that trumps all the other reasons. Except maybe that Theresa's Canadian.

It's always a joke when we all get together. You have no idea.
