The 'rents are watching the kids so I will be there on Tues!! Husband is a lawyer, which equals worthless with watching our kids during the week. Love to the parents who wanted me to see Stevie when I told them I was selling the tickets I bought during a moment of euphoria.

I am all for the Tuesday night dinner, but I won't be in town till after 7 pm.

Are there any marriotts near the webster hall venue? Is the Ritz Carlton Battery park or marriott downtown anywhere close?

You're seriously tempting me. It'll be finals time so it will probably depend on my levels of sleep deprivation, but I'm definitely going to try! Would love to meet you

If you stay in Battery Park, you may as well stay in New Jersey. Battery Park is, like, another country. Are you talking about the Marriott Marquis in Times Square? That's not very close; you should try to find something on the east side. If you've got money to spend, and it seems like you do, go for the SoHo Grand or the TriBeCa Grand. And also check out the new Trump SoHo. But the most "happening" downtown hotels are probably The Standard and The Gansevoort, both of which are in the Meatpacking District- just a bus ride away from Webster Hall.

About 20 minutes before her segment, they filled the front of the stage with various NBC people or people with special privileges (and a celebrity or two). Plus, if you're in the wrong spot, the camera guy will be right in your line of sight. I'm just warning ya, that's all. That being said, I must admit it was really cool to be outside in the middle of Rockefeller Center, watching Stevie perform and watching the traffic on the avenue behind her. It's a very "New York" experience.

Oh, and if you get there early enough (like 4AM), you can actually see them set up. Stevie was out there bundled up in a coat and her hair tied up in a bun without a stitch of makeup on. But you'll have to bring binoculars to see her at that point since they still hadn't allowed people into Freedom Plaza.
My experience as well. Thank goodness I was in the first row of "common people" so my view was excellent. I was still bummed that there was still a VIP section in front of us, especially since I was waiting and freezing since 3AM. My contacts didn't defrost from my eyeballs until the afternoon. Glad I did it once, and that there is film footage of me and my friend singing and smiling the whole time.

So. Freaking. Excited.

Also, if any Ledgies want to meet up, I'd love to meet all of you! We can do group lunch/dinner/etc or you can run around NYC with me on the 3rd
Sounds good! Waiting to see if Caitlin can get tickets. If she does then I'm going to fly in Monday and hitting the Today show too. Airfare is the same price to stay 3 nights rather than 1, so why not? God, my priorities are so messed up.

Just so everyone knows, I'm devastated I won't be in attendance (if I haven't intimated that enough already) but am very excited for those who will be there! It just seems like a once in a lifetime opportunity I'm going to miss out on . Well I feel I need a little sympathy!

You definitely have my sympathy.

But for what it's worth, I'm still insanely jealous that you got to hear most of the album siting in the same room as Stevie! Now that's once in a lifetime.

Ha ha good point!! And don't forget I got to ask her questions to her face and actually engage with her. She's my angel bunny and I am forever grateful for that experience and glad I could share it w/you guys.

Personally, I'm not a huge fan of his. Something about his personality, or at least the way he comes off, seems a bit self-involved and just really turns me off. I do appreciate everything he's done with the album and promotion and especially how he has reinvigorated Stevie... but personally, I don't care for his music nor his voice, and don't like the narcissism that he reeks of.

So he's not for me, and I can't say that I would necessarily enjoy or be happy to hear that he was gonna be at a show I was attending :/ So I don't blame you.

So.. yes Dave, in regards to him being a friend to Stevie and helping her with production and writing aspects. No Dave in regards to him actually singing on the songs and being in the videos and performing with her.
