Are you calling me a hillbilly, or a hippie?

I DO think that maybe it's only a midwestern thing, hunting mushrooms....
Seriously, it's a springtime RITUAL around here, and I know HUNDREDS of people who hunt them. People sell them to stores(not me, I eat em, cuz they're DELICIOUS), and the stores resell them for $30-40/lb. And I'll pack and freeze any, if I find an abundance.
Take a look at the Wiki pic, there's no making a mistake, on what you're picking. Hell, I've done it since I was probably 5 years old!

Like I said on the previous page, it's a Hobbit thing.

And McTrouble, (apologies for not knowing your real name) Papa John's is a pizza place.

Well, I was referring to the fact that you obviously know the difference between edible and poisonous ones!

The thought of "magic" mushrooms never entered my mind

There's NO mistaking a morel, or what we call a Peckerhead mushroom(which we also eat - they're almost all stem, with a small cap on top, thus the name). They don't look like anything else. I literally couldn't make a mistake.

Oh, magic mushrooms enter my mind, every once in a great while...

I'm off until 10PM today. I'm heading hunting, right now. Wish me luck! I found 20 yesterday.

I made Beef Goulash - made to the traditional Hungarian recipe except that I put lashings more than specified of Hot Paprika to spice it up!

Served it over pasta shells - that gorgeous sauce gets into all the shells, yummy!
