Let's face it-- when you release a new album at 63 and are most liked by 40+ year olds, any promotion is good promotion. She knows that.

That being said, she's booking some surprisingly good opportunities for herself considering her age and the demographic to which she best caters.

There is nothing wrong with her being on DWTS. It's one of the biggest shows out there and has a huge audience. Get over it people. So what if it doesn't seem "cool" to some people just sit back and enjoy. This could really vamp of the latter part of her career. Mama got to make that money! And I think this album his her baby and she wants it out there to share with everyone. Good for her and I'm so happy for getting all this stuff.
BTW, some major people have been on DWTS singing. Heart was on there last season and Jennifer Hudson was on there last night.

I've caught bits and pieces of this seasons DWTS but haven't kept up with it this year like I have the past 2 or 3 but I think it's good she's going to be performing on there and it'll be nice to see what they do to some of her songs. I personally never understood why they have the dancers dance to that horrendous house band and their singing, their voices suck to peoples songs, why can't they just dance to artists music from an album instead of that ****ty band singing along? Anyway, I'll definitely watch the night Stevie is on there.

The best news here is hearing that there will be a summer tour! Yaay!! As far as these hokey shows go, they do get ratings so itll be good exposure.

Agreed. Get those summer dates posted! I'm hoping for the benefit of others that she makes it on her solo leg to cities that she didn't go to on the Heart and Soul Tour, but I'm also selfishly hoping that she makes it up to Toronto again. They played at the ACC on April 2nd, but I defiantly didn't go because a) couldn't handle her with Rusty Rod and b) I was holding out for a solo date. I'd like to see her playing some outdoor venues again. She played the Molson Ampitheatre in September 2001 and it was like paradise!

And "as far as these hokey shows go," you're right - they are SUPER exposure - especially if she appears in prime time! JUST AS LONG as she plays some new material. Everyone knows she's the gorgeous sandpaper throat behind Landslide and Stand Back - can she effing let the world know that she's been up to something else these days, please?!?

You already heard that Heart, PROMOTING THEIR NEW ALBUM (!), sang "Barracuda" on Dancing With The Stars last year.

How do you know the producers wouldn't rather have a universally known HIT, rather than new material?

And, hey, Oprah even had Stevie perform "Secret Love" for her web~site, as well as "Landslide" for broadcast.

My neice was obsessed with The Dance dvd when she was three, funniest thing she watched the whole thing with me and asked to watch it again all the time. When she was four I took her to see Stevie on the Enchanted Tour. I wasnt sure about taking her because she was so little but it was an outdoor venue and my sister was going so I figured we could walk around if she got bored. She paid attention to Stevie the whole time even putting her winnie the pooh blanket over her head and swaying to the music Some people sitting behind us bought her a snickers ice cream bar and said they wanted to bring their daughter cause she also liked the music but they didnt think she would sit still. My neice is 16 now and she has a very eclectic taste in music. So yeah Stevie/Mac music is timeless and I am all for getting more exposure as long as it is done tastefully.

I can't stand to watch the men of Pawn Stars. They lowball and take advantage of people and I don't see how any viewer could look up to them and how that son/owner snickers and plays on disadvantaged customers. He disgusts me. It's one thing to be fair to someone, it's another to take advantage of them knowing they're down and out.
