This my problem. I exercise all the time but often skip meals. The weight stays off, but I feel like crap.

Have you tried anything like Quorn or tofu even if it is just to fill you up? I can run all evening on a tofu salad and contrary to popular belief, if marinated properly it doesn't taste bad/of nothing.

If you're working with the right recipe, Tofu can be pretty nice. My friend's Dad makes Tofu Burgers that make McDonald's look like crap. Well...more like crap.

Ah man Mountain Dew makes me shake like a dog. It's horrible, I never know what to do with myself after it. I don't like sausage rolls but I do loveeee just Linda McCartney'ssausages.

Sounds like my reaction to any energy drinks, or most caffienated beverages. Because I'm severely anaemic I'm very susceptible to caffiene, and as such whenever I have it I'm effing wired for the rest of the day. My Mother has literally told me on more than one occasion not to come home when she knows I've had an energy drink, because I go through the entire spectrum of emotions with them. They're pretty much the same as alcohol to me, lol. I never got on with her Sausages, because they taste a little cardboard mulchy to me.

I've never been able to bring myself to try tofo. I mostly eat boneless, skinless chicken breast (marinated) w/ a salad. I also try not to eat anything past 7:00 P.M. That time used to be all about drinking and other bad things I'm trying not to do. Occasionally, I'll allow something from Cadbury. My life has become quite the party.

We started off as friends, and we ended as friends... and that's so rare in dating. It just meant the world to me that he thought to call me up and seek advice on his life, and spend a couple of hours catching up with each other. I've been kinda down lately searching for work, and have felt isolated. But hearing from a very old friend tonight has put some wind back in my sails. It really is the simple things which bring me the most joy!
That's really, really awesome Louie. I'm glad that an old connection gave you the boost you needed.

It's not healthy mentally OR physically. It's just not. No way around it. Oh - and not eating any fat? Will f*ck up your brain. Literally.

And what's wrong with working out 5 days a week? it's not dangerous or unhealthy.

1) You're 5'10" & weigh in the 130's? That's even more concerning. My husband is the same height, weighs around 155 & is thin as a rail. You're in concentration camp territory, my friend.
2) There's a very fine line between determination & obsession/eating disorder. Determination is eating the pizza, but only 1 slice. I'm not diagnosing you, but you should be very, very careful. I'm serious.
Couldn't agree more with everything you've said above, Paula. To be honest, I would be REALLY turned off by a guy who was that anal about weight, partially because I really don't like skinny men and partially because I'd think you were mental.

It sounds dumb, but you need to eat to lose. About 4 years ago I did Weight Watchers for like 6 months & only lost 6 pounds. A friend of mine worked with me to look at my points & activity & everything, and told me I actually wasn't eating enough - I was 2-3 points short each day (that's about 100 calories.) I increased my daily intake, varied it day to day (so I ate 22 points 1 day, 25 the next, 20 the next, 35 on a weekend for a treat, etc.) Increased my cardio from 30 min-45 min 4-5 days a week & voila - I lost the next 15 pounds in like 3 months. I actually got to 2 pounds BELOW my goal.

It changes a little bit every day. 1200 one day, 1500 the next, 1000, 1700, 1200 again.... generally speaking, I'm not calorie counting unless there's a label on packaged food. I'm just eating as healthily as I can, which I'm guessing is the right way to do it.

I think part of my problem is that I'm losing weight in two of my "problem zones" (hips and thighs) but not my stomach, so I feel ridiculously unproportionate right now, which isn't usually a problem for me.

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS LINDSEY!!!!! When I call you later (yes, this will happen) you've gotta tell me all about it.

I got your voicemail early this morning but I've been in classes all day... I'll give you a ring in a bit. xo

I get **** on the street because I dress in bright "hippie" clothes, because I'm a redhead, because I'm not getting drunk and high on street corners, because I'm bettering myself by getting an education, because I respect people around me....I don't want to add fat to the list too.
First of all, I 100% agree with what Sian and Marissa said.

When that starts compromising your health, I hope you realize it and back off. If there's one thing I've learned in life, it's that people REALLY don't think about those characteristics as much as we think they do. Six months ago, I was at my heaviest weight EVER (by about 30 pounds from my average throughout high school) and I had never felt more lovable and sexy. I clung to my good features-- my eyes, my boobs, my height, etc-- for dear f*cking life and presented myself like I knew I was worthy of the people I wanted even though I often felt completely out of their "league." I just had a generally terrible self image. And guess what? At 30 pounds heavier than I wanted to be, I was slowly starting to BELIEVE that I was worthy, attractive, etc etc. and at the same time, I was turning more heads than I had in my entire life. Once I started to believe the pep talks I gave myself, people could tell that I loved who I was and it rubs off in a great way. I personally think I was a LOOOOOOT more attractive at 16 when I was still modeling and had a MUCH better body, yet I never felt better than last summer.

If you can't believe in yourself at your worst, you'll still give off feelings of insecurity when you feel at your best. Do what makes you feel good, what makes you healthy, what enhances your life-- and that's what will give you the positive energy to turn your attitude around. That's how I'm attacking my entire "get in shape" process. Yes, I want to lose weight, but I want to do it because I'll be healthier. I honestly don't believe that any other mentality will bring someone to feel the way they want to after weight loss. Don't do it for the people. Do it for you and the people will follow because of the energy you give off.

Its 10:21 in the night and I turn 16 tomorrow. I'm here with some of my best friends, yet each one is secluded in each room and on their laptops.
Ugh.

Ugh.
I'm sorry Go round them up and watch a movie? Go get a late night snack? Happy birthday, though

It's almost 9 am here, and I've been sitting at a high school proctoring an SAT for an hour now. I'm debating whether or not to leave my coworker in charge while I head off to get coffee.
