Bah! Meh!

I believe Courtney also offered "Malibu " to Stevie if only she had taken it and swapped it out for the self penned TMMS on TISL.. I concur that Stevie is so unique she can really put her indelible stamp on the songs of others and make them her own so if they are good songs I have no problem with her covering them.

Maybe Dave is getting sole songwriting credit on Cheaper Than Free, since it was slated only for his album in the first place. At this point, a good album any way she can get it would be nice.
Stevie wrote alot of the lyrics for Cheaper than Free so it should be a co-write.

First, why would information from the website of a legitimate music publisher, listing "The Ghost is Gone" as a Nicks/Ghost co-write be less conclusive than this article you seem to recall, claiming that the song is a Nicks/Campbell track?

Second, Stevie said herself that "You May Be the One" was the first song that she and Dave wrote together. What makes you think it's the other Mike Campbell track?

We know that the two Campbell tracks recorded are "For What it's Worth" and "My Heart." Why are people questioning this??

My Heart is not on the official album. I'm just saying stories get changed.

As far as Mike Campbell is concerned. I don't think he really wrote anything but the music. She just lays lyrics on top of his stuff.

Courtney Love and some Canadian musician specifically wrote "When It All Falls Apart" for Stevie in 1997. This was when a lot of "alternative" rockers were constantly referring to Stevie as an influence. I'd have to dig out my old resources and fanzines to list some more.

The night of The Grammys in February 1998, Billy Corgan told the press that he had session work with Stevie the next day and through the whole week!

I love Trouble In Shangri~la, but I wonder what would have happened if Stevie had stuck to that alterna~route, rather than marrying Crow.

No one ever said Mike Campbell writes words for songs. I was just Que lastima!~ing about Stevie singing some ghost~writer's words on what WOULD have been Stevie's ONLY album where she wrote or co~wrote every single song! And, yes, "My Heart" is sequenced in for the UK ~ it COUNTS!

Courtney Love is a very gifted writer, so is Corgan. I don't think it counts for one of the new tracks she is referring too.

Sorry if this is covered, but is My Heart going to be on the UK CD - or a download-only bonus track?

Eh? Even if this Amanda Ghost person wrote The Ghosts Are Gone with Stevie, Stevie's still a co-writer on every single song? So, I'm not seeing the big fuss over all this, different writers tend to bring out the different sides of Stevie, which is always interesting. Some of her best songs have been co-written.

I think what some people are getting into a snit about is co-written lyrics. They think Stevie should never record anything except songs where she writes all the lyrics. That seems to be their main objection (which has always been over-the-top and even a little vitriolic, to me) to Sheryl Crow (someone correct me if I'm wrong; I have never gotten the Sheryl hate at all).

A "ghost-writer" is someone who writes things that are then credited to another person. Amanda Ghost is not a "ghost-writer" if she is credited (which she is).

With the right tweaking that song was a radio hit I swear. I can't wait to hear what this sounds like and if she fixes the lyrics that drove everyone so crazy. They never bothered me much.
