I'm saying a little prayer that they plan on surprising the person who gets the Stevie meeting experience... and that she'll just show up at my dorm door. Yup, that's what I'm hoping.

Ok so here is what happend.

Last summer I casually sent a letter to Oprah via her website submisson page where they asked for people to submit suggestions for guests who have not been on the show. I sent a small letter.

I had honestly forgotten all about it due to a number of things (Job interviews, my 30th birthday going etc). As of today it was two weeks ago that a producer emailed me asking for a picture (nothing fancy) and more info as to why I love Stevie Nicks plus a contact number. I immediatly called my mom to tell her the amazing news. She suggested taking two pictures 1 with my twin brother and another myself both showing off m merchandise as she thought that maybe being a twin and having a decent collection of merchandise might impress the producers if they were looking for something unique.

Two night later I took the photos and sent in a longer letter explaining why I liked Stevie. As this all went down my older sister decided to get things really going by emailing the local news stations my story. CBC took the bite and called me and her (separatly) and asked us some questions then aired the interview as news story. They then called me back later on that day asking me to appear live in studio on a radio show called "All In A Day". My sister had also created a facebook account page called "Get Matt On The Oprah show". The idea was to have people click like and see how many people we could get to help me out. If you search Matt Denison Oprah through Google you find that several sites picked up the CBC 's story. I was also interviewd on 93.9 BOB FM last week as well.

After the CBC radio interview I responded back to the producer with an update explaining what had happned (Facebook. Radio interview etc) and as of right now I have heard nothing. One of my Facebook friends who is going is helping me out my tweeting @Oprah and @Sherrisalata since she is the executive producer who gave him the news Sat that he had tix.

My only point on the issue is that I don't know of anyone who has had the media coverage that I got so I felt that if I wasn't picked I would be a little surprised since one would think that Oprah likes this kind of publicity and feel good news story as some local people called it.

It won't be the end of the world if I don't get to go. But I will admit that come Friday if I am not there I will be a little bummed.

One thing that does intrigue me is how they can decide who is the # 1 fan? I think I am safe in assuming that all of us thinks THEY are the # 1 fan. I think they should have said are you a big Stevie Nicks Fan? Do you sing along to her music attend many of her concerts know the words to most of her songs? Something along those lines. Because then it isn't about being a number 1 fan ( which could be dabated as some may say I have seen more shows or have more swag so I am a number 1 fan) I guess it comes down to what we or they view as being the ultimate fan.

I know I am not as crazy a fan as some others who have tatoos and dress like her and have everything under the sun related to SN/FM and if that is what they are looking for then I know I won't be chosen.

Matt, I agree with you--I don't think there is a single #1 fan. But I've been reading what you have said in your posts relating to all of this, and if there is anyone that represents a lot of the spirit of all Stevie's fans, I think you fit the bill. (as much as anyone with tatoos, the clothes, the hats and all the other trappings) You do us proud by just being yourself, by loving the music, by caring about Stevie. So if you are given the opportunity, go out there and represent!!! We will all be cheering for anyone that represents the fans. Don't sweat not being crazy.

I think it would be fun sitting at a show with you, rather than someone that IS crazy!

Well I hope to hear back from them. My thinking was that they wouldn't be contacting you unless they were serious. I really hope something good comes from this.

I suggested on Oprah's website a long time ago that she interview Stevie. I know she gets unlikely interviews and I think this would be a good platform for Stevie.

Fast forward, I saw the links for the superfan and the audience and I filled them out and sent my short paragraph and 3 pictures. I heard via e-mail that I was invited to be in the audience that same day. My essay was about how I first enjoyed the songs when I saw FM while I was in college and was not surprised that they became a super group. I became interested in the drama when Rumours came out , and then enthralled with Stevie's lyrics. I was specific about which lyrics resonate with me. I also mentioned that my husband's normal is seeing me vacuum while dancing to Stevie's music etc.

I feel very lucky to have been picked. I think I'm very normal... in a fan sort of way.
I've loved Stevie's music for more than 30 years! I hope Oprah really interviews her and asks about her life and music in a way that gives us a better understanding into the woman we all love.

Well I didn't reply to the superfan or the fan of rock and roll simply because I had akready been contacted and didn't think it was neccessary to repeat myself twice since they already had asked for more info on why I love Stevie Nicks.

Now I am thinking maybe I should replied.

I was just e-mailed from Oprah announcing that there will be a Covergirl makeover team at the taping and they are looking for audience volunteers for a rock and roll makeover like Stevie Nicks, Joan Jet, Pat Benatar or Salt and Peppa! They want "to unleash your inner goddess". I guess that is who is on the show?!?

Not sure I want to go on national tv for a makeover. Although I could really use one, I'm not the kind of person who likes to draw attention to myself and I think a makeover would be embarassing...maybe when I was younger!! I might look a little like Stevie during the heavy clonopin years, ha ha!

I know a lot of you would like to go to this taping and I think some of you might still. I will try to let you know what is going on as best I can to keep you in the loop!

I think Stevie Nicks needs a makeover to look like Stevie Nicks.

It has been confirmed that Stevie Nicks will be making her first (and obviously last) appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show in two weeks.

The lovely leading lady of Fleetwood Mac will be making a "special appearance" on the show, according to a Twitter of one of the executive producers, on April 13th.

Set your Tivos…NOW! We hope this special appearance includes at least two performances!
