On to Montreal,

hmm, just picked up 6th row, centre for Montreal from the same broker as the MSG show,

unbelievable; 2 tix for 49 $$USD ea, total inc shipping ==117 $$ CAD,

seats are face value of 276 $$USD,

got hotel booked 2 blocks from venue,

got train booked from the "shwa" to Montreal return 180 $$ CAD,

just in time for the Toronto show, (ticket for 97 $$ CAD, centre floor row 16, "RUSH" perhaps),

Default the voice!

say what you will about showmaship, Stevie's voice drowns out Rod's. gal can still project! she does seem a tad more loose thsan the early clips too!

Even though Stevie is certainly not bustin-a-move , with what looks like a date she wants to ditch, I find her incredibly hot with her demure, sex- kitten style of dancing.......meooooow!

This performance, to me, should go down in history. I know, not everyone likes this song, but Stevie is pure, raw emotion here. As I watched this, I felt as if I were listening to a friend tell this story, in my own living room.
This made my heart bleed, but, in a good way. It was like a therapeutic experience for me.
It seems as if she was "getting real" here, if that makes sense. I am going on little sleep, and may be rambling, but, I just had to comment.

I think Rod should spend more time looking at her, connecting and trying to make it a duet. When they sing, "Once in love, you're never out of danger. One hot night, spent with a stranger . . . " their eyes should be locked. Instead he's dancing around with his portable mic and you feel the music of the song but not the meaning behind it.

I'm not saying Rod and Stevie could evoke passion on stage together, but they could generate heat and intensity in their vocals. I mean the song makes me think of involuntary emotions, desperation, instinct, loss and with the right interaction, they could convey just a fraction of that.

It would have been great to see Stevie on this song 25 years ago, she would have run circles around him. I'm not saying she's old, not at all. Her songs and FM songs are beautifully adapted to her current style and are in no way devoid of "passion" at all. BUT I'm just talking about those days when she could come on stage and take over anyone else's song, without a second thought. Ebony eyes, for instance.

Wow...such a great recording! I converted it to an MP3 for anyone interested! Let me know and I can e-mail it to you! (Or if someone can let me know how I can post a MP3 file on the board, I can do that too!)

Everytime she sings the line "Am I happy? Yes I am..." it brings such a smile to my face. Love her!!!

I completely agree. I was at the Tahoe show last summer and thought the performance of Love Is was fine, but I was not in love with it the way others were. This is a much better performance by Stevie IMO. I don't think anyone can say she's yelling or over singing anything here...she's very subtle in her vocal delivery. Gave me goosebumps.

LOVE IS was epic! *swoon*. Love is, Stevie Nicks <3.

P.S. Great to see her hands and how I wish I could hold them.

Quite honestly I don't think there is one iota of chemistry between them. I don't think they even like each other. For Stevie to look Rod in the eyes and sing "Once in love, you're never out of danger. One hot night, spent with a stranger . . . " would just make her want to HURL! She can't bring herself to do it. Brings me to the conclusion that is why she doesn't want to sing "Leather and Lace" with him. Could you imagine them singing "lovers forever, face to face"? I feel for every good duet Stevie sings, she has to feel a connection with her partner, whether it's personally or musically. And not all the COKE in the world could save them!

!
But to me, it's not Stevie who is averting her eyes. It's him. He's too busy being sexy (?) to even acknowledge the fact that he's actually singing the song with someone.

To be honest I don't really think Rod is paying attention what he's singing at all, just the fact that he's on stage and there's an audience out there dancing. Which is a perfectly fine approach - it's just.. kind of clashes with the whole 'duet' notion, as well as with the way Stevie performs.

You're right. He's not mindful of the words at all. With Stevie, even though Stand Back is a dance song, she still performs it like she's really looking for a little sympathy!
