Default Can you name any...

...female rock singer with a deeper voice than Stevie's

...male rock guitarist or singer with taller hair than Lindsey's

...female rock keyboard player or vocalist who has aged more gracefully than Christine

...rock drummer who is taller than Mick

and/or

...any bassist who speaks less than John?

Talking I can name 1...

"...any bassist who speaks less than John?"

John Myung of Dream Theater. Since 1990 he has yet to say 1 single word on stage during a show...And the only time I have ever seen him talk is on the Japanese Concert Video that came out in 1992 (Offstage while buying a kimono he actually spoke!!!)...

So, John Myung makes John McVie seem like a motormouth in comparison...lmao...Brian J.

I'm not familar with Dream Theater at all, so I'll take your word on this.

Kim Carnes?
...male rock guitarist or singer with taller hair than Lindsey's No. Can we skip straight to 'crazy professors' and 'mad scientists'?? That's much more in the ballpark!

...female rock keyboard player or vocalist who has aged more gracefully than Christine
You've got me there. She's one in a million.

...rock drummer who is taller than Mick
The trick there is that 9/10 you see them seated.

...any bassist who speaks less than John?

Bassists should be seen and not heard! (John loves it )

I think she's scratchier, but not as deep. Good try, though. Interesting Kim/Stevie parallels, too. She sings about Bette Davis, Stevie sings about Greta Garbo. And she worked with Lindsey for USA for Africa. And she's blond.

Deeper voice than Stevie's? I think Nina Simone might have qualified if she had done Rock.

Sure, beyond the rock spectrum you've got an array of arguably deeper-voiced singers. Tracy Chapman, and whoever it is that sings that "Once a story's told" song, come to mind..

Kim Carnes is surely a distinct voice, but not necesarily deeper. Very scratchy. She's a female Rod Stewart and also similar to Bonnie Tyler.
As far as hair goes, Jeff Lynne (ELO, Traveling Wilburys) always had big hair. He still has that same haircut from the 70's....

Dream Theater is a progressive rock band, somewhat similar to early Yes and King Crimson and nothing like FM.

Believe it or not, I know the name but not the voice.
Is she good?

LOL, Jake, I love your quiz.

Yep, definitely Marianne Faithfull. I don't know if she's still making albums but I saw a recent interview with her and she basically sounds like a man.
As to whether she's good...I think she's cool, but I don't really like her music. She was a model-turned-singer who was big in the late 60's and used to hang out with the Rolling Stones and nearly drugged herself to death. That's basically all I know about her.

As for tall-haired rock musicians...
Well, that American Idol Judge Randy Jackson used to be in Journey. I'm not sure what instrument he played, but his hair was pretty tall....

Can't think of any answers to your other questions.

Marianne is not bad...she is an acquired taste. I have a few of her cds and i have listened to them a few times. There really is no way to explain her.

One day you like her cuz she is a bad ass the next day you are like "this chick is whacked!" You have to be in the right mood to enjoy her because her voice is so low and so gritty that it can rub you the wrong way sometimes.

go on amazon.com and listen to some of the snippets of music they have from her latest album "Kissin Time" and you will see what i mean about her voice.
