Wow. I guess they didn't tweak much after the holidays. I bet once everyone hears the record in its entirety, they will be fine with the sequencing. All that matters is she is putting out a great record. Truly.

Probably. In a way I'm surprised we haven't heard more about that.

DavidMn ; hope you have a great time @ Boston.
Slightly difficult when you live in ENGLAND where Stevie DOES NOT tour. I have a ticket to Hard Rock Calling, of course. Incidentally, I'm travelling 200 miles to London this weekend to see Clare Maguire, and last summer I followed Tori Amos on tour across Europe. So don't say that we don't "get out there". It's difficult when there is nothing to get out there for!

Agreed!

I travelled from Ireland to the US last year just to see Stevie perform live!! I NEVER thought she'd play solo over here again! Nearly fainted when I heard she's playing in London for Hard Rock Calling!

All I know is that she didn't created him on the demo, according to the US Copywrite Office.

Annabel Lee was written in 1849. Works by this author published before January 1, 1923 are in the public domain worldwide because the author died at least 100 years ago. Translations or editions published later may be copyrighted. Posthumous works may be copyrighted based on how long they have been published in certain countries and areas.

Legally, she wouldn't need to. His work is in the public domain, so anyone is free to use it.

The question is whether she will at least credit him in the liner notes.

Annabelle Lee has been done by other artists. Did they give him credit?

This is what I expect we'll see. Stevie will get sole songwriting credit with a special inspiration nod to EAP.

Me, too. How dare anybody comment or question someone else's art. That's why we have the word "art" and don't use the word "structure" instead. If you don't like the art as the artist created it, then don't look/listen. That conversation in Destiny Rules still really bothers me, because I really do respect Lindsey on so many levels, but it's not his place to comment in that way.

Oh, what the f*ck am I talking about; these days, they're rewriting Mark Twain, for chrissakes.

(Apologies for high-jacking the thread for a minute.)

Unless he wrote an additional bridge and melody line with added lyrics. I would highly doubt so. Stevie had the whole song written, lifted lines from Poe's Annabel Lee, inserting a few of her own choice word preferences. Came up with the chord structure and melody. Dave and Glen will get their credit from arranging and producer credits. Coming up with a minuet, is all embellishment and arrangement, that is in the musician/music producers role. But anything is possible. Stevie did give writing credit to Roy Bitten on Kind Of Woman, solely based because she was blown away by his piano break down/instrumental in the middle. So, as with all the speculative nature of stuff being thrown around these days. We shall see.

You are not alone. Juliet was one of my favorites when the album came out! I was fortunate to see her perform it live, just before it was dropped from her set. I don't understand the almost universal disdain for the song!
