I had posted links on mediafire to numerous videos/demos that I uploaded & it seemed most anyone who took any interest in talking to me was simply after my collection & not really interested in anything other than what they could get out of me or to talk sh*t about others they didn't like on the board, etc. I frankly didn't have the time or patience to deal with it, so I dropped into obscurity & decided when I joined this board that it'd be less of a headache to simply lurk & avoid any B.S.

Word. I didn't post for quite a few years because of the hostile nature of the board and a rather nasty, vocal clique. The board may not be as edgy these days as compared to it's past, but I'll gladly take it's current friendly incarnation any day.

You won't have anyone hunting you down for demos and material things much these days... but you likely will encounter some ruthless flirting! You should try digging in and having some fun here... we mainly just like to joke and have fun

My favorite Ledge era was when I was new here. I guess we often look back nostalgically & put a golden halo around our past. But I will say that I like Michele best of the various owners.

I liked Distension, too. He up & split. The appeal of the conversation must not have had long-term staying power with him. With me, it's just the opposite. I'm as giddy with energy as I ever was over conversation. I loved conversation (by telephone & letter) in 1979 with other fans, talking about Tusk coming out, & I still love conversation (by Ledge, Facebook, & e-mail) with other fans, talking about whether anyone even remembers Tusk coming out.

Hello everyone. I have lurked on the Ledge coming on ten years now. I attended many many Say You Will shows and look back on those memories with such fondness. I had to take a concert attending leave of absence due to college work load demands, but now I am back and sooooooooo excited Stevie is on tour again and looking absolutely fabulous.

Welcome to the board, Katie -- if that is indeed an Elton John reference in the username, we should chat, I'm a big fan!

I remember meeting some great people at the concerts in Dublin and being reminded that, in fact, not everyone in the Fleetwood Mac fan community, or even the online community, is on the Ledge. It's easy to get caught up in it all and think we're the only ones out there!

Welcome to the Lurkers!

When I first found the Ledge, I read EVERY post there was on the Rumours, SN and LB forums. I had a lot to catch up on, because I'd not been really into music for many years, and this place was just great.

However, I think reading through all those posts did intimidate me for a while. Some Ledgies were/can be very judgemental about SN fans, and the last thing I can be bothered with is arguing with someone whose mind is closed.

There are also a few absolutely terrific writers on here, though, and their posts encouraged me to think that there might be the chance, as David says, of a conversation. And that is what I value most, because when my husband married me I forgot to warn him that I might fall back in love with FM and become a giant, y'know, bore.

Long live the Ledge, and hello to all newbies.

I agree. Plus I tend to be too lazy to sign in if I know I will only be on for a minute or two

Word. I'll come forward. I've been lurking happily until yesterday when I finally felt like I had something worth saying.... (hopefully!).

Anyhow my name is Sadie, I'm 27, I used to post on the AOL Stevie boards as Rumours48 back in the days when people had AOL, like 1997-2001ish. I used to check out the old RMASN and AMFM boards but they were terrifying, all the catty bs that went on! It makes a person wary about message boards...

Also, it's really overwhelming to come back to the online community since the advent of widespread digital technology. When I was last around, there was no youtube or mediafire or facebook - people were still trading 2-for-1 tapes, CDs, and VHS. I'm kind of overwhelmed at the high-volume and -intensity digital trading that goes on now! It's awesome, but different. I've been watching and observing the social rules of what people offer and how - I don't want to commit any faux pas. Still getting the feel of Stevieland in the 21st century!

That's the one! I couldn't remember his name, but me and him just didn't click or maybe it was because I was 19,20 years old and didn't quite get his "style". But he did make some people feel like they were silly for being a chiffon head and would just be a real smart ass overall. But yes things are much more kosher around here these days.

Back in very early 2000, I found The Penguin. I'm not even sure if a forum section existed yet. I was not online very often at the time. Many years later (September 2009) we finally bought our own computer! I looked up The Penguin board, not even knowing if it still existed. I joined The Ledge right away! In fact, joining The Ledge was my birthday present to myself that year!

Thumbs up Longtime Lurker

Well, I finally decided to "come in, out of the darkness"... (bet you didn't see that one coming a mile away!)

I'm a longtime Ledge lurker. I discovered this board when I got into the Mac back in 2003 after the release of Say You Will. I check it pretty much every day, and I love the insightful things you folks post. I would not know half as much about Fleetwood Mac (in all its various incarnations) and Stevie if it weren't for this board! All the hype for In Your Dreams has me pumped...as evidenced by my username. I've seen Ms. Nicks solo twice (Two Voices and Crystal Visions) and the Mac once (Unleashed).

In my offline life, I'm a middle school Social Studies teacher. Huge music lover. Nerd. Everything else I suppose you'll find out in time...
