I never read into it as a "contest" for her "#1 Fan", just that they were looking for fans in general. So I don't think anyone will be named her #1 Fan necessarily.

They were probably looking for a certain type of fan that fit in with what they want to do on this particular show.

That's what I was referring to, not necessarily who her number 1 fan is. That's just what they've coined the thing. I was just wondering if we were going to find out, and how.

My guess is that it'll just be a show about rock stars and their fans, some crazier than others.

My fear about Stevie appearing on Oprah is that we will hear the same old script that we've heard from her for the last ten years. Will she sing a new song, or will we get another performance of Stand Back? Will she address how and what she's doing now, and how she sees herself in today's world, the state of the music industry, or will it be a lot of pandering to her past?

Stevie is interesting and quirky, but she is not the most articulate and insightful person

Aside from featuring a bunch of gushing fans, I hope the dialouge will be on higher level--in the context of her longevity, her iconic persona, her unconventional lifestyle, her work and interests outside of the music industry (with various charities/military) etc...

Well it has been a week as of Monday that I was contatcted by Oprah's staff and I still haven't heard. I posted on her forum just asking about notification and their response was that you will hear back by phone or email if selected but they didn't specify how soon you should hear back.

This is all so very weird as they have not confirmed anything yet nor has anyone said they were picked to be a guest on the show.

I will keep hoping for a call. My friends think that they have to be serious about my letter if they asked for a photo and a contact numbe plus the publicity that my sister helped create. I still think that there had to be more then just me whom they contacted. I would love to go but if it doesn't happen oh well I still love Stevie's music and will hopefully see her solo this summer.

I was hesitant to post this, but I figure what the hell! I'll rock a little...

I wrote in an e-mail to the Oprah Show last Monday on a whim and I was contacted the next day (last Tuesday) by one of her producers. When I got that call saying "Hi, this is Allyson from the Oprah Show," I almost had a heart attack! I played it cool though, and we spent about 15 minutes talking about how Stevie has influenced my life, etc. She took all of my contact information and said that she would reach out to me again soon. I'm starting to get a liiiiiittle anxious, since it's been over a week since I heard anything.

Has anyone on here had a similar experience? I know Nicks_Fan received an e-mail. It would be fantastic to have the audience filled with Stevie fans.

Well at least it is comforting to know I am not the only one who is waiting. My sister started a Facebook campaign to help me out when she found out I was conatcted and now I have been making the rounds of lcoal TV and radio. I would think that has to count for something since my hometown has rallied behind me.
