Updating my list: I also really like The Big Bang Theory (Sheldon is comedy genius!) and The Good Wife.
I am totally obsessed with English period dramas! I am especially fascinated by early-mid 20th century English period pieces which showcase the collapse of the old English way of life and class system.

I've actually been considering watching Bleak House for a while now... but can't decide between the newer and older one. Guess I'll just have to watch both!

I've also been itching to see the original Brideshead Revisted mini series after watching the movie last year. I very much enjoyed the movie, but it was derided by critics as not being anywhere near as great as the original mini series. So I'll have to check out the mini series and judge for myself!

I'll have to check out North And South, too... that's another one which has been on my radar . Thanks for helping push me over the edge on these shows!

Bleak House: There's NO context between the older and newer ones. The new one, with Gillian Anderson as Lady Tulkinghorn, is the best costume drama tv series ever. The first episode was an hr and then they broke it down into 30 minite episodes so there's a cliffhanger every time. It works very well, especially since Dickens's books were originally written in serial format.

As for North and South, you want the BBC one with Daniella Denby Ashe and Richard Armitage. It's from about 6-7 years ago.

The original series of Brideshead is superb - you'll love it! Let me know once you've seen any of these and what you thought.

never been much of a TV "fan"... but my all time favorite show is SEINFELD.

Also I loved The Muppet Show... Curb Your Enthusiasm is pretty good... Arrested Development...

Most of my favorites are sitcoms that are no longer on. I don't watch many dramas, but two standouts are 'Without a Trace', which was canceled far too soon, and a show from about 20 years ago, which nobody will remember, called 'I'll Fly Away'. It's basically 'To Kill a Mockingbird' told from Calpurnia the housekeeper's point of view. Again, canceled too soon.

Brilliant - so much better than the movie. It does look a little dated now but that's probably cos I watched it the first time around.

I love Without A Trace and have the first 6 seasons on dvd - waiting impatiently for season 7! I actually just watched the season 5 episodes with Sam's sister in them last night, they may be 2 of my favourites from the whole series. It's excellent and I wish there were new episodes. Season 7 was a bit patchy but still much better than loads of other stuff out there.

Sadly though, 7 seasons is now a long running US drama! Studio 60 anyone? That's surely the most criminally early cancelleshow ever! One season?? What the..?!

Seinfeld- greatest show of all time.

Yes, much like Fleetwood Mac, I'm sick to death of it, but still.....

I adore this version.

Besides the shows I already mentioned, I guess I should add Hot In Cleveland. I originally I watched because of Betty White, but the rest of the cast is pretty funny. It's kind of a rip-off of the Golden Girls though.

I'm not much of a TV person but the only shows I really watch are Bones, Teen Mom which is kinda interesting, Jersey Shore (I know I know but it's hilarious) and The Real Housewives Of.....series (except for DC which was boring as hell) and VH1 Classic.

Prob. watch more TV now than in the past 7 0r 8 years, but it's still not all that much. Only things I watch on a semi-regular basis are Bones, Modern Family, & Glee (haters can suck it ). Kinda got into Cougar Town for a bit, but they either canceled it or moved it to another night - not sure which, and don't care enough to find out.

So, yeah. Nothing terribly hip or exciting.

I've recently gotten addicted to "Spartacus: Blood & Sand". It's violent! It's tawdry! It's filled with man candy! I LOVE IT!!!

Neither--it's just on hiatus while Matthew Perry's show (which, BTW, is dreadful) starts up. CT will be back later in the Spring. I actually really enjoy it; nothing groundbreaking, but it's cute and has a great cast.

Ooh, yes--another guilty pleasure. I haven't seen much of season 2, but it's a cute show. Completely formulaic, but the cast is entirely composed of women I adore.

I could never get into Spartacus, and I really wanted to (my mother was a classics major, I'm a Latin geek--I'll watch pretty much anything set in Rome). But have you ever seen Rome? Perfect balance of great writing and the fantastic hedonism of Ancient Rome; one of my favorite shows of all time. Plenty of man candy, too
