Inspired by All of This Stevie Excitement: New Lyric- Hoping She Knows

Hey all,

Because of all this excitement with the new album, and some things going on in my life, I was inspired to write my first lyric in awhile. It's about women who simply have confidence issues, and refuse to accept that they really are special!

This is called Hoping She Knows.

Hoping She Knows
Written: 3/25/11

For Kelsi Faye

Verse: You go and stand on the sand,
hold all of your pride within your hands.
You close your eyes, praise lands on- stunning.
They can't contain, but some keep running.

She says the visions are to hazy to read.
Some courteous glance and the words to redeem.
The sightless truth which they can't deny.
Her words getting heavy, the figure sublime.

Chorus: Lovely lady, she closes her eyes to cover,
the praises of those, she feels belong to some other.
Everyone stands and waits for her to step on stage.
Some stunning vision shows, takes away some pain.
And when she sings, the far distance glows.
He'll carry her smile, hoping she knows.

Ocean distance ebbs and draws a vague line.
Of what is her truth, and unknown fire time.
But she'd like to go faster, and not hear the words,
of how she always strikes and alluring chord.

or all he thinks is how strange it is,
to not share what is written all around the room.

Chorus

Bridge: She begins on running, but she's still reaching.
And they'll be there to always keep pushing.
Knowing what's been the truth all along.

Right now, this lyric is meaning a lot to me, and I very well could end up writing another one, if I can find the right balance between my HW, papers I have to work on, listening to Stevie's album promo, and the recitals I have to go to this weekend!

maybe you should try setting your lyrics to music, it's great that you are inspired and are putting it to use

I always do end up putting my lyrics to music. May try getting that done today if I can be productive, but I'm having some trouble with that right now!!!

The thin glass walls, they're raging,
for some unknown power they're containing.
After she graced a hall, someone's walls are crumbling,
to know what truly lies beside that common place.

He turns away slowly, the wild wind distance growing.
For truth's stained absence shows all but her knowing.
But distance can't lie, for all that he means,
is for her to step up, living in those dreams.

Chorus: Evening's cast is set, as they walk away.
Confusion reigns as she didn't deny it today.
But the night begins again, alone.
And she will take her visions to deny,
For we all just want a little more time.

The power of place as it walks again at might.
Decisive visions create a scene at night.
She could walk down a staircase hold within her heart.
But he'd never know the words to take a start.

For tonight's praises rained down slowly.
But she didn't run away.
